Just to put this into perspective, the USA made it a legal requirement to be vaccinated to enter the country, BEFORE Canada did the same thing, only difference is Canada actually instituted a program that works, rather than leaving it to CBP officers to do it or not just as they please. The US has absolutely no problem with this arrangement as the vast majority of cross border travellers will be going both ways and therefore be checked at some point during their trip border services on both sides share information.
