Anyone know of one? A friend of mine is wondering, says the dealership wants $20 for one. Any alternatives for him? Thanks in advance. Marcus |

The Hi Flos don't have any O-rings. Keep that in mind. Pretty minor for the difference in cost. |

You can buy the whole kit on Ebay, filters, o-rings and washers, that is what I did. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-1125-R-CR-2-O il-Filters-1-Seal-Kit-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZi tem5886f7ef99QQitemZ380221517721QQptZMotorcyclesQ5 fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-1125-R-CR-4-O il-Filters-2-Seal-Kits-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZ item230659c377QQitemZ150430401399QQptZMotorcyclesQ 5fPartsQ5fAccessories |

How often do you end up needing the o rings and such? Is getting the whole seal kit with the filter the best way to go? |

Is it an acceptable practice to reuse the washers and o-ring if there is no damage? |

I'm guilty of reusing washers because I forgot to bring them last time, but the OEM oil filters come with the o-ring so I use that. No leaks or any other issue as far as I can tell. |

Froggy, I will probably skip this one as there are only 1200 miles on the bike. Unless there is damage to any of the parts. Eece_ret, I have asked this one a couple times and haven't had a verification. The measurements don't look right from the K&N site. A 50 pack of o-rings are $5.68... http://www.mcmaster.com/#orders/=6k5t24 (Message edited by hogzilla on April 07, 2010) |

Eece_ret, As it stands now, no KN filters will fit. I spoke with their R&D and they are working on a fitting an 2010 Aprilia, which once released will also be for the 1125R. |

I posted a link in the FAQ section with cross references to common maintenance items a couple weeks ago: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/549656.html?1270426645 |

A_s_r, I noticed that Dannybuell mentioned the specs weren't exact, are they within a functional range? |

At 32,000 miles I think I've changed my oil 8 times and I'm still on the original set of copper washers (wish my tires would last 1/2 that long). I buy my filter/ o-ring from the dealer for ~$15. With 2 sitting on the shelf, I'll be good till June. |

Hogzilla, I edited my post in the FAQ to include the measured dimensions of the OEM washers and the listed dimensions of the aftermarket ones. The ID's are the same for all, and in my opinion, the OD's are all close enough to be functionally equivalent. However, I have not yet purchased any of them, so my opinion is just that. And you know what they say about opinions... |

I'm guilty of not changing the o-rings at every oil change . But it just eat's at me to have to pay the dealer 24 bucks for a single filter ! |

ASR, I'm not trying to knock what you posted just pass on the information from K&N. But the 556 filter is too short. If you have different information, let me know. BTW, thanks for the research on your previous post. Helped me find the right HiFlo. Thanks, Andy |

$24? It is $20 full retail, you can get it with a discount from some Badweb sponsors. At $20, the filter costs a whopping .0016 dollars per mile! |

How many miles do you put On it before you do an oil and filter Chang Froggy? I do mine every 3000 miles and that's oil and filter. |

Per the book, oil every 6k, filter 12k. Doing it sooner wastes your money, not to mention that the filter will work better as you put some miles on it. Plus I got better things to do than change my oil every 4 weeks. Using your intervals, it would cost me over $600 a year just doing oil changes. I can only imagine how much more it would be if it was being done at the dealer! |

LOL it costs about 35-40$ for me to do it and that's changing out the o-ring and washers too |

Actually, I don't. I was just trying to correlate all the information from different sources in one place. Corrections and edtions are always welcome. Here is where I got my information for the oil filters: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=290431&post=1767090#POST1767090 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=290431&post=1767305#POST1767305 Does anyone know for certain if K&N makes a filter that will work? If so, please post if here or in the FAQ section. In the mean time, I will remove the K&N from the list. |

Coupon for anyone ordering from powersport superstore. I just ordered a few Hiflo564 filters, and I usually check for discount codes too. I found the code PO642SP3 (on retailmenot.com) which is entered on the checkout page, for an additional 5% off. It's only a buck or two, but why not.... |

Yes, but 10 oil changes a year = expensive, I will stick to my 5 oil changes and 3 filters. ($200 for 10 OEM filters, $100 for 10 sets of washers, $300 for 30 quarts of oil.) |

was searching for info on the HiFlo and ran across this article cross-cutting several popular filters. Not sure if it has much more relevance than being motor-nerd (like me) reading material. This article states that the K&N for the Suzuki is made by HiFlo. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterStudy.h tml |
