Hey all new to the boards. I have a 2001 M2L and i want to put the earlier seat on instead of the wide butt one it comes with. I'm having a lot of trouble locating a stock seat but i did find that the Ducati Monster seat is very similar in style. Has anyone heard of this and/or done it? And does anyone have a stock older seat available? doesnt matter the condition as long as i can bolt it up and get it reupholstered if need be. Thanks! |

I might be wrong but I think the tail sections are different between the older m2 and the newer ones. I am sure will answer. |

Yea the old sections are much thinner as are the seats. I've opted to remove the tail plastics all together though for a more naked bike. That's why I want the slimmer m2 seat because it bolts right up. I'm not ready to make any major frame modifications yet. |

The duc monster seats do fit if you are not running the tail plastics. You will need to figure out how to attach it. Check this page out http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/6 90487.html?1346398679

That monster seat looks good but would also need monster tail light & indicators, so more $. i removed the plastic just use late premium? or prime? seat it is slightly different to stock seat lowered seat hight a 1/2"? has pegus emblem on each side edge. i just bolted it to frame will make an alloy bracket to bolt up same as plastic does ( four bolts under seat ) will just make it to mount stock tail light & indicators no side cover, will remove carry rack tidy up wiring. i like the look & compfortable. |

Luckily I have a duc monster LED tail light coming in the mail soon it's exactly the same as the stock cyclone tail light. With the fancy integrated sequential turn signals and flashy brake light so that's no problem. I don't much want the plastics, just a thinner seat that doesn't require me to cut the frame. The duc 999 seat is pretty sweet too. I couldn't find a reference to the seats you were talking about Lakes. Could you maybe point me in the direction of it. |

Also I have a bracket to remove the giant ugly shovel that the last owner tried to trim down with a hack saw so the tail light with be flush with the frame. |
