Are you the whacker or the whackee? If you're the goalie you should look into converting a Buell flyscreen into a face shield. |

My wife's grandson played roller hockey indoors last year. Sometimes the kids would get 5 or 6 shots at the goalie in a row, whack whack whack whack whack, poor goalie. Hey, I don't see a Spidey sticker on that goal frame!!!!! You're slipping. Looks like fun stuff. |

Respec Spidey. Didn't have the knees for hockey. This is my go - In this episode danger dave schools the local youths on how to finish a fast break.
Not bad for 48 anyway. |

"Just foilin up coach." Believe me, hockey is much easier on the knees than b-ball. |

"They brought their f'n toys...!" You look good out there Spidey. I played with some tomcats outside of high-school. They were middle aged and missing teeth. Needless to say I only played a few games. It wasn't play'n hockey, it was battle royal on ice. |

Boy you got that right Tony, I lost more players to hoops, soccer and volley ball than I ever did from a hockey injury. More blown out knees than I care to think about from soccer alone. Who's taking the shots for you? Any chance of getting a short vid clip? Brad |

Spiderman is right, hockey is incredible easy on the knees, that is until someone falls on your leg. Anyway, I have horrible knees but I play hockey two to three times a week without any problems. Skating is low impact. Running and jumping is not. |

nah - agree in theory - experience was different - I played too - I'm good at all sports - it's an Aussie thing - Canterbury rink in sydney - I was hospitalised for arthroscopic surgery. Have to admit I wasn't much into the game - but the chics! The best lookin' wimmen used to skate. So did dave. 2 bad injuries - lateral tears. One with no other player near me. played b-ball for 30 years. Never hurt a knee once. Ankles are mush however. (Message edited by danger_dave on October 26, 2007) |

One of the reasons there are fewer knee and ankle injuries in hockey is due to the ice. When you get hit or exceed the limits of a joint, you loose traction! Your skate lets loose and the stress is off the joint. Turf with cleats and gym floors with modern shoes on the other hand really grab and hold. |

Hmmm. Twas a long time ago. Warm up ain't what it is. Just pondering it too - those knees were far worse than any injury I have had from motorsport. |

Thus - Hockey is more dangerous than motorcycling. Wonder if I can get a grant for a PhD...... |
