Mike - just tell me what you need me to do to help out. Since so many will be traveling outside of the Raleigh area, maybe a Friday or Saturday night. |

Jim and Rebecca, When would work for you? If we're talking a Saturday or Sunday get together, we could do November 10th or 17th. If we're talking a weeknight, we could do anything after November 5th. |

Mike, sounds like another good time down your way. More than likely, I'll be able to make it. But, I'll have to pass on the sand. |

I have some plans that day, but am trying to get the boss to make changes so I can make it. I hope she agrees. I have soccer tournament that morning. I can ride your way if I get permission after that. Like I said earlier, maybe I can get Carlee to U4ueh's for the night then head toward Ray Price the next day for Jim N's story time. |

You are cordially invited to Buell Show & Tell hosted by Ray Price HD/Buell in Raleigh, NC! As many of you know, Jim Nance (Jlnance) took off from NC on his 06 Uly and headed to Seattle WA, then down to California and then is taking the southern states back home to NC. The name of his Adventure is "Loosing My Mind to Stay Sane". Along the way he's met several BadWeBrs and Adventure Riders. On Sunday, November 18th, Mike Miller has gotten Ray Price HD/Buell in Raleigh to host Jim's Show & Tell of his ride across the US on his Uly. Food and drinks will be provided. Menu is still being decided. The dealer is open from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. We could meet at Ray Price around 12:00 noon and socialize for an hour or so and check out Ray Price's Buell Wall! We will plan to eat around 1:00 p.m. and have Jim take the floor around 2:00 p.m. and then socialize some more once he's done. Feel free to bring stuff dealing with your own Buell adventure. The dealership will have a laptop and projector to show pictures or video. Mike is hoping to have an 1125R at the dealership by this date. He's also working on a few door prizes as well. What we need from you is a head count of who will be attending. Remember, we need to plan for food and drinks, so please plan accordingly and let us know if anyone will be coming with you. You can post here on BadWeB or drop me a PM. I need your response by Wednesday, November 14th. Kristi |

I won , Hahahahahahaha, the slow race at the Tar Heel Travelers 21st annual Halloween Rally yesterday. It was a hoot on the R1200S. It sure is balanced. |

I can't stop laughing. That has got to be soooo comfortable. Thank God Buell owners have more sense than that. 1313 |

A conversation I was involved in last Sunday when I stopped by New River H-D when my parents were in town... Me: So where's the Buell stuff? You used to have some clothing and gloves and the like. Parts man: I don't think we have any more. In fact, I don't think we will be selling Buell next year. Me: Why's that? Parts man: We have 6 Buells that we haven't been able to sell in the last 9 months. Me: I would think that a U.S. Marine would want to ride an American Sport Bike. Parts man: Well, if a Marine finances all 11 grand for a new Buell, their insurance premium for the first year is 6 grand. Me: So all the Marines will be riding Jap Sport Bikes then, huh? Parts man: Well, they do get a break on insurance when they turn 26, but by the time a Marine turns 26 he will want a Harley. If I would've been on my toes, I would've asked him about buying the Buell sign on the dealership. I could just call, but for something like that a face to face conversation would be best. The attitude is kind of funny coming from a dealer that is connected to Carolina Coast. Here's a picture of a certain Buell owned by someone at Carolina Coast. This pic was taken at this years Homecoming.
Seems he brought it to Homecoming just so he could ride the bike on the track (during the parade lap). Interesting P.I.N. number however.
#51 of a bike that they were only supposed to make 50 of. As most know a total of 56 XBRR's were actually built. Here's what www.buell.com says the 4 closest dealers to me are right now.
So, for something new for 2008, it looks like there will be one less Buell dealer in Eastern NC. 1313 |

It's a shame that they are pulling out. The problem is they never really pushed the bikes in the first place. So that leaves Shelton's & Ray Price. Ray Price seems to be stepping it up. I hope we have a good turn out on 11/18. |

Random note- I installed Polly Heaters on my XB12R this weekend and got to try them out on a ~120 mile ride on Sunday. So far I can't tell the difference between the high and low settings. Both are too hot to leave on for more than ~15 minutes at a time, at least while wearing my track gloves (Alpinestars GP Pro). I ended up cycling them on/off throughout the ride, my hands were quite toasty. I think I'll have to try a heated vest next. |

I need heated grips. It was a bit cool this morning on the ride to work. The real problem is I am down to one set of riding gloves and need to buy a new set of winter riding gloves. |
