Looking for input on a rainpant for occasional use when commuting - I do not think I am looking for anything too extravagant - I was hoping to see what others are using. I saw the Alpinestars RP5, but then I also saw the bright yellow rain gear that was at Home Depot. Any input would be appreciated. | ||

Just make sure the leg zippers are long enough to get over your boots. When riding if the zipper is not long enough a pain to take off the boot to get the pants on in the rain. Believe me I learned this the hard way seveal times. Did th eone legged bounce to get the pants on without getting the feet wet. | ||

Since I commute to work almost daily, I've had my share of getting caught in rain and showing up looking like the poster boy for incontinence wear. The Frog Toggs will work in a pinch, but I can pretty much guarantee you will have VERY wet pant bottoms and boots. I rarely use my set because of this. I agree with Pso about the leg zippers, but in addition I recommend you get more serious protection ALSO with leg stirrups to keep the pants down over your boots while riding. | ||

BMW RainLock pants and jacket are probably the best I've seen my dad loves his. However I've ridden in biblical rains with my FroggToggs and been dry except for my crappy boots (which are getting replaced with Aerostich Combat Lites Boots. Now I usually wear mine over my Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket and pants but since I started carrying mine I've not been wet | ||

As far as sizing usually goes on over garments - how does it work - I'm 5'10, 190 pounds, I have large Icon and Joe Rocket jackets. Should I get XL stuff? What about pants? My local Cyclegear has no raingear in stock for me to try on. |
