So, Andy's sending me a set of Polly Heaters, and I'm wondering: What's the best source for power for them? I already have my Garmin GPS tapped into the front accessory plug wires. Is there a hot wire available that the Buell heated grips tap into that I can modify to have the Polly Heaters run off of, or is there another lead? Or, do I have to run a fused hot lead directly from the battery? Thanks! -darrell |

I cheated... I had a HID already installed, so my low beam wire was no longer carrying low beam current. I just used that. That means I can't have high beams and heated grips though... which I may regret someday, or maybe not (With the HID, the high beam becomes barely noticable). If you go direct to the battery, you will need a relay, which will be a headache. I would probably start by hooking them to the accessory wire along with the GPS (which won't draw a lot of current) and see if you blow a fuse or heat up the wire. It'll probably work fine. |
