you guys/gals were great at Femmoto. Had a fantastic time demo-ing lots of bikes. Did get to sit on the 1125 but it wasn't available to ride Had 2 days at Las Vegas Motorspeedway. Test rode a CBR600, Ducati Monster 1000, Ninja 600, Honda 919, some bike made in Korea, SV650. Rode an SCG, XB12s and the firebolt. Also went 2up w/my hubby on a Softtail Custom. They're all very interesting bikes but I never got to get the rpm's on the rice burners full out on the track. Might have had a better feel for the bikes on the street. Everyone was great, was really neat to see all the women on bikes and all ages. One lady took the MSF class 6 times before she passed. The instructor told her to give it up but that egged her on more. After passing the class, she bought a VStrom. In 1 1/2 yrs of owning the bike she put on 35,000 miles. Said she has to change tires about every 3 weeks. She rode, by herself, from Oregon to Vegas and back for this event. She is 63 years young. WAY TO GO. It was interesting listening to the women after they test rode the Buells. They either loved it or hated it. One lady said she was going to have to eat crow as her husband has a tuber and she didn't like it. After riding the Buell she had a different attitude. I love my Buell, wouldn't get anything different. It's nice to be able to just throttle on/throttle off and still have power. Again, thanks to all the folks that put on Femmoto and especially to the HD/Buell folks. (Message edited by jumpinjewels on October 19, 2007) |

i'd like to see my wife to something like that. she has a blast that she will ride but i wrecked her SCG a couple weeks ago down at bueltobefest. she wasn't down there or maybe that wouldn't have happened. who knows. anyhow, were gonna get a nightster instead of another buell. in the meantime she is content on the blast except making a couple changes. |

I hope Buell and HD continues to support Femmoto. It's a great venue to try bikes on the track in controlled conditions - AND NO oncoming traffic, NO yellow lines, NO cross-traffic, NO cagers on cellphones. EVERYBODY riding the same direction and if you felt "funny" in a turn - in a little more than 2 minutes, you get to see exactly the same turn again and make a change or two. The Track is a perfect place for a demo ride. Way cool Julie! |

It'd be nice to have a place to do it that is free of testosterone poisoning as well Women on motorcycles are frequently as fast as men, but rarely as stupid. ;) |

>>>Women on motorcycles are frequently as fast as men, but rarely as stupid. ;) Witness World Land Speed Record Holder Susan Wilson. She was formerly a Corvette racing champion (it's rumored she beat Aaron in the Nationals but no one seems to talk much about it) and is a seriously good motorcycle rider. Fran Crane, a good friend and a motorcycling legend, I first met when she was an instructor in a motorcycling class I attended. I struggle with the "women only" component and can hear the outcry if HD sponsor a "men only" track day. But I also know how messy it gets when you get a track full of gals and toss in a half dozen male egos. |

Court, men were actually included during the weekend, just not on the track on Sat/Sun. They were welcome on the track on Fri but that was a "bring your own bike" day for everyone, no demos. Men were also included to test ride several bikes on the street. BMW, Harley, Suzuki, Kawasaki all had bikes for everyone to demo on the street. There were also demos for dirt bikes which, if I go next year, will do that. |

Women on motorcycles are frequently as fast as men, but rarely as stupid. ;) i have to agree whole heartidly on that one. to many wrong decisions at the wrong time while the wife only has one accident that i'm aware of and it was just a little fender bender. also supposed to have better reaction times. when i met aaron over at bike week the one year, his wife won the drags they had set up at the race track from what i was told.
