Not sure where, (I think it was the Harriman Motor Inn, it is now Americas Best Vallue Inn) Winging this one for a spot to stay,BUT I believe Jp has a place there. He will be there fFriday. I will show up saturday morning/afternoon some time. May have the NH crew with me as well. Jim will be there sometime at night. And Greg is questionable as to what he is up to. |

For those of us that will be showing up Sunday morning with a truck, where would I be able to park near the meeting point? |

I was also wondering about parking. I'll be making a river-to-river run... the Delaware to the Hudson. I'd rather truck my XB9S up and back than deal with 4 hours of "highway drone". Looks like there's parking available right at the Perkins Tower... anybody know if you can leave a vehicle there all-day-long? |

odd, if it's just a pick up i wouldn't guess it would be a problem. lots of day hikers leave vehicles parked there. if you've got a trailer they might bust chops though. |

For trucks & trailers, I'd park at one of the many parking lots at the Bear mtn Inn (bottom of mtn 2 miles from perkins tower). Perkins memorial drive gets closed at dusk with a steel gate. I'd not want to return and find my truck had been locked in or worse yet: towed! |

Oddalloy, that's hard to say. I think we'll be cutting it close. We have at least 2 pit stops planned for the run, not including fuel stops, and then there is the final destination. We have at least 150 miles to cover. I wouldn't leave the truck at Perkins Tower. I'd leave it at the main Bear Mountain parking lot and ride your bike up, but it wouldn't hurt to stop in the main administartion building and ask about their hours. |

Got the bike packed, and my gear all set out. Aiming to get out of here around 4:30/5am. Grab some to eat, and take a nice liesurely ride down. Supposed to close to 50 at that time which should make for a much nicer ride down as compared to the high 30s it was last year. See ya all in the morning. -Patrick |

Take it easy coming down, Doon- Sounds like the gates at Perkins won't even open until 9 AM, so the pack just be getting up to the summit around then...there'll be hot coffee and cocoa ready when you get there, along with Donuts and bagels, I hear. Z-Girl is baking cupcakes and cookies as I type this, and the cat is nervous. |

Tramp and Zgirl, thanks. The ride down is a bit over 3 hours since I abhor the slab. (Basically take 9w all the way) I Have to get gas, and will need coffee. So if I leave around 5, I will get there between 8 and 9, probably closer to 9. . |
