I have the signature series documentation and timing cover for a 1996 S2T number 347/398. If anyone has this bike I would like to reunite the documentation with the bike. I am still looking for the documentation for my 1996 S2T VIN .......0095 We need a S2 thread for the proud owners of these fine machines. Frank |

I have the signature series documentation and timing cover for a 1996 S2T number 347/398. I'm unclear on the vin number...is it 347 or 398 or do you have 2 sets? Also, what is the color of the S2T you do have? Thanks, Kristi (Message edited by Ulywife on October 17, 2007) (Message edited by Ulywife on October 17, 2007) |

The vin is 347 of 398 for the signature series timing cover. At least that is how I read it. 96S2T49 347/398 is how it appears on the cover. My 1996 S2T is silver and the last four of the vin is 0095. Frank |

Kristi, I just looked at your spreadsheet. I have Epmchow's 1996 S2T. I bought it last month. I think maybe we should include the last four of the vin number on the bikes listed. That might be a better picture but would probably be a pain getting all that info. Another reason for a separate S2 thread.. Frank |

I think maybe we should include the last four of the vin number on the bikes listed. We could add another column titled "of" next to the vin of the signature series or bike listed. Anyone else have any thoughts to adding this column? |

Rex, I signed up for the S2 forum a couple of weeks ago. Looks like between your list and Kristi's work on the spreadsheet we will have everything documented to help people like me. Is there anything I can do to help???? Frank |

Court, I have been reading all the post (well not all yet) on the history of the S2 and others. I must say it is all very interesting and I look forward to your chapter on the S2's. I saw an earlier post about a S2 owner registry that I guess never happen and have also seen the efforts of the AZ S2 guys and Kristi trying to document all the owners and signature series material. After going through the post I discovered that there is a large amount of undocumented owners and bikes and I have been trying (with the help of Kristi's excel spreadsheet to fill in the holes) however, this is not easy and if it has already been done before it would be nice to know where that information resides at. I have only been riding Buells since 1997 but wish I had paid more attention to what was going on with Buell back then. I am really looking forward to your book. This all started with me trying to find the signature stuff for my S2T and turned into something I can no longer control! I think I need to enroll in yet another 12 Step Program! Frank |

Frank - check with Bartimus. He's the one who actually started the spreadsheet and has lots more background and information to share. I'm only the data collector. |

I have the immense pleasure of owning a 1995 S2 part vin no ending 0867 originally blue and from Wisconsin USA. Now pearl white and residing in UK. Would this vehicle been entitled to a signature series timing cover. The guy I bought it from was a machinist at the HD Factory and says he never had it. Are they available at this late stage. Would dearly like to have as much history for this vehicle as possible. Thanks |

I reside in UK and saved a 1995 S2 from the chopper fiends. Purchased in Wisconsin in April 2005, rode 3500 miles in seven days to Sturgis this year, after having it modded up, and have now shipped it home, to live with my S1,X1 and S3 I believe it is No.780. I would like to get a signature series timing cover if it is entitled to one, but do not how to get this, any ideas. Original owner of 10 yrs never had one. WOW Frank! Looks like between you and Bart you've got this project covered! I think it needed someone with a vested interest in the S2s. Looking forward to hearing about people finding their signature series items that they currently don't have. |

Kristi, thanks, a labor of love to be sure. Instead of updating the list I took the S2 out for a ride yesterday (over 60 degrees in the foothills yesterday) and after I stared at it in the garage for hours after while sipping a cold one. My girlfriend gets jealous but it is a damn sexy bike. Frank |

"My girlfriend gets jealous but it is a damn sexy bike." With 5 Buells, 3 of which are S2's, my girlfriend deals with it well. I think we could have worse hobbies. LOL

Bart, yes, I think she would rather have me drooling over my bike in the garage than after some young thing in a bar ;) I saw this yellow 95 S2 on craigslist (Phoenix) but a little far from me. (Of course I drove 2600 miles round trip to get my S2T) http://phoenix.craigslist.org/mcy/456686812.html I cannot tell a lot from the picture but know he does not have the signature series stuff with it. I have always liked that yellow color. Frank |

I found some writing under the tank cover on my 92 s2t. Looks to be a name; Odbert? and under that is April 320 and an inspection sticker of some type. I just thought it was interesting.

Ratbuell did a VIN search on my 96 S2T and the color listed was "high voltage yellow". Looking at my 1996 Buell brochure it only list the S2T in two colors, the Parkway Blue and Quick Silver. Is it possible that a couple of yellow S2Ts were made? The yellow is only listed for the S1 that year. The bike has been repainted at least once and I was told it was Quick Silver before.. Now it is a different color silver. Frank |

I posted a picture, in response to Road Things questions about the marking under his tank cover and some photos . . . but I have no idea where. I can generally read those markings pretty well. . . I can tell you that April Cash did the #320 grit sanding on the piece. I'll tell her you send your thanks.

I really think we should create a thread in the Storm Fronts titled S2 riders", or S2 Signature Series, or something like that. so it won't get archived into oblivion. The Storm Fronts are for "riding groups", arn't S2 riders part of a group? We should push the issue, and have all past related S2 threads moved there... |

Hankb, Sorry for the delay in my follow-up. The dash is on the Japan specific 1992 RSS 1200. Quite a few unique features to it that kinda show the transition from the RS/RSS bikes to the S2. I've posted the other pics I have comparing a 1992 US model RSS 1200 to it previously. They can be seen here. 1313 |
