I wonder if you can still get leathers like that. Look good the last of this month. |

Hey Zac4mac I am glad you are getting the bike you want. I am just pissed because I was there at Homecoming 07 with Diablobrian and BadS1 (Those guys were BAD-A-WORD) hoping to pick out mine and my wife’s new "XBRR" based white lightning. I really wish our wonderful master of bikes would also have went FULL BORE with the new water cooled bikes and built a real super exotic to KILL the Gixers and R1's but the 1125 seams to me to be an intermediate bike of the future. Lots of ideas have been thrown around on here about a PSYCO v4 200+ hp bike from hell but no one ever seams to listen. Besides, I spent years now listening to how "You don't really need a 6th gear, 4 valve heads are not needed, water cooling brings too much complexity and parts, Torque is all that really matters, we are building a bike (XBRR) to pass down technology to the street, bla, bla, bla. Now I am being told they still love the Air cooled and we don't have to worry about them going away. WHAT EVER...... Congratulations on a Fantastic bike and I am sorry to sound like a hater, I know that anything good for Buell is good for us all, maybe I will get off my ARSS and quit bitchen and build my own damn "09 White Lightning" C yall at Homecoming 08 if Erik doesn't BAN me for bitchen so much. If you think about it this is kinda like comparing a "DinaSORE" blown 68 Camaro street machine to the New Corvette ZR1. I sure do love my lope though. Diablo....wanna chime in here somewhere |

Yeah Jimmy, I feel your pain. I had a conversation with the man himself at homecoming 06 (BTW it's really cool to have the man with his name on your bike come sit at your table a just talk bikes for a while) concerning the search for more horsepower while still keeping the EPA happy. The problem with the 6th gear in the tranny of the air cooled twin was all about the amount of noise at cruising RPMs at the higher gear ratios since there is no water jacketing to muffle the mechanical noise. The engineers had all kinds of trouble with the 4 valve heads burning the web between the exhaust valves. The 3 valve heads (with 2 intake and 1 exhaust) didn't show any real improvement over the 2 valve heads. It just added parts and complexity to the motor for very little gain. ( I still think that there may be more to be found in a 3 valve head with a higher compression of forced induction motor though...) We ARE seeing XBRR tech filtering down! The oil pump, cam case, and ignition trigger on the 08's is proof of that. I'd like to see the big bore cases too, not to mention the RR fairing, trap door for the transmission, slipper clutch, ZTL2 brake, A new head light for the firebolts you know...the bare essentials for my street bike I was also hoping for a Buell that could be built to "set the (racing) world on fire". The jury is still out on that one, but while the 1125r does look to be a phenomenal street bike I don't see privateers gridding it in AMA superbike. I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I'm getting. Unfortunately I won't be able to ride one unless I buy one and install a push button shifter on it, so I have to take the word of others on the prowess of the 1125r. FWIW my lil' old XB1250 is all the bike I really NEED for the street. It's got soul . Of all the bikes I've owned the firebolt is my favorite. |

First thing.....open the airbox. As soon as I added the cold air induction airbox cover I saw more pop immediately. |

I agree. I don't know if it is still accurate today but I once wrote that the most gain/$ was simply changing to a free flowing air filter. |
