Well I am sure alot of you recently read my post about installing my pipe and PIAAs. Well while working on the bike I had the battery disconnected. Went out on a long ride yesterday and when I left the house I had 5.6 miles on trip 1 which I use to track when I need fuel. Well me being the genius that I am did not remember that that mileage was from my test ride the night before and not when I filled up last........to make a long story short I noticed that my low fuel light was one about 20 miles into F trip (very bright yesterday and I was having an absolute blast)....but ran out of gas about 2 miles from the much needed gas. So pushed the bike to the station.....couple people stopped and asked if I needed help and I told them I deserved to be pushing my bike for being a dumb@$$. |

I ran out on my first trip out on the Uly. Someone had told me the 20 miles was conservative, and they'd got a few miles more. So I'd not stressed when the light came on and I was about 20 miles from my destination... I ran out 200 metres short of the petrol station! Had my gf on the back, boy did I feel stupid! Thankfully we'd spotted the petrol station as we didn't know the town at all. Anyway, happens to the best of us |

Went on a trip with a friend. First time we rode together after getting the Uly. Ran out of gas but luckily at the top of a hill where there was a gas station at the bottom. Did a quick wiggle of the bike, started it up long enough to make a u-turn then coasted down to gas station. O well now I know. As I was once told many long years ago, "It is none of my business what others think of me", thus I was only pissed at self and could care less what the other fellow thought of my antics. |

Ran out of gas the first ride to work on my X1, felt stupid since the original owner told me that the low fuel light did not work. Called the wife and woke her up. She brought me the needed gas. You learn better from experience I say. Never ran out since! |

Ack, that sucks. At least you have a good sense of humor. How much gas did it take bone dry? |

On the Uly if I fill up when the light comes on I put in about 3.6 gallons. I have put 30+ miles on with the yellow light and still it was 4.1 gallons. I am hoping the tank holds 4.3 gallons as advertised. Also I do fill it up pretty high. Anyone know the real total capacity? |

4.4 gallons is the claim if I recall correctly. Twice I have put in 4.35+ gallons at 35 - 40 miles past the light. |
