Philadelphia to Key west FL. took 2 weeks getting down there stopping at multi places. Went streight home from key west in a 32 hr canon ball run. slept for 2 hrs on a bench mid way through. |

XB12R - 470 miles on first day. 330 day two. 300 day three. 1100 total. With just a Mountain Smith fanny pack, and full gear.

Last year I rode my Lightning from Baltimore to Athens, GA and back. Stopped at Deals Gap on the way. This summer I rode from Baltimore to the Americade rally in Lake George, NY and back. Took a mini tour through VT. Super slabbed it back in one day. Also rode to Ohio this summer too. Have had the bike 2 years this month and have 20K on it. I mainly ride on the weekends and take 1 good long trip a year. I think I am going to get the Select seat for it though. After a while my rear does hurt but its ok if you walk around every time you re-fuel. Next summer Im planning on riding to the Buell Homecoming in Troy, WI so if anyone in the Delmarva area is planning on going maybe we can ride out together? |

1400+ miles in 3 days on an XB9S (OH, WV, MD, VA). It was a great trip that was mostly on twisty backraods with virtually no highway. |

I just returned on 5 OCT form a long planned trip on my 06 Uly.
8 days, 5500 miles.
Houston, TX, to Roswell, NM day 1
Sedona, AZ day 2
Lee Vinnig, CA day 3 (via Death Valley)
Sacramento, CA day 4 (via Yosemite)
Bishop, CA day 5 (via Lake Tahoe, eastern Sierra)
Prescott, AZ day 6
Brownfield, TX day 7
Houston, TX day 8
I purchased a Garmin Zumo 550 and brought my notebook with – planned each day the evening before. My intention for this trip was to stay off the SuperSlab as much as possible. Found some really remote mountain passes in northern AZ and NM, riding hours without seeing another human…. Spooky and cool at the same time….
Had to replace a rear tire (worn out) in CA – Blinkers quit working (intermittent) in the cold. I purchased the new Buell Heated-Grips and had my dealer install before this trip – they worked once, getting into Sedona it got cold and they were wonderful! I missed the hand-heat for the rest of the trip. Bone stock Uly MPG was 42.4 to 49.8 – I ran 80-85 most of the time.
Cannot say enough about the GPS – really made the trip for me, got a little screwed up in Las Vegas on the way home, took the wrong Fwy and recovered without a hitch, turned into a minor goof. What a great traveling aid.

The following weekend after we got back we did another
1200 miles in 4 days (Dallas to Ava,Missouri) via the Talimena Dr, Pig Trail, Mark Twain national forest and HWY 125 mmmmmmmmmmm Hwy 125 (in my best Homer Simpson dreaming of a doughut voice) |

<1200 miles on an '06 Ss from NC Washington to Boise with the wife, 2 up and 2 days of rain. lt was great! SM at High Dessert HD in Boise thought we were nuts. Tried to sell us on an Ultra Glide. The wife said "no way".

Have ridden 1400 km in 2 days, about 900 miles in US terms. Most of the journey was in rain and the last stretch back home was I cant wait to get there, gloves soaked but enjoyable ride.Have ridden 200 miles 2 up with the wife and she was sold on the bike after the first 20, bike handled great 2 up and Slamber777 I hope you were referring to the wife and the bike |

Best roadtrip ever was back in 1987. Bought a new Heritage Softail. Memorial Day rode from Ft Collins, CO to Angel Fire, NM for the Red River Run. Got home from that, emptied the dirty clothes, loaded fresh ones and rode from Ft. Collins-Grand Junction-Phoenix-San Diego-Seattle-Victoria BC-Seattle-Sheridan WY-Home. 6 weeks 6000 miles, $6k.

1200 miles in 3 days from Colo to Taos, rides in between, and back.
1500 miles in one week touring the Colo mountain twisties. Over several mountain passes. What a blast. Planning on another trip next summer. |

I'm thinking of doing some really long trips with my woman on the back. Anyone have some recommendations for a good sport tourer for two up riding for week long excursions. The bike I have picked out so far is the BMW R1200RT. |

Take a long hard look at the Honda ST1300 versus the BMW. Even the new Kaw C14 has some draw backs and the BMW TCO is MUCH higher than the ST.
PM me if you want some details. My ST is 3YO and has 77K+ miles, with over 50 farkles (Yes I am farkle addict ;+}). There are many previous Buelligans that needed an upgrade from the S3T to feed there wanderlust and found their solution in the ST or FJR!

Note:
Have reversed the pegs for the passenger and wife is very happy ( She is only 5 ft 2 but she is alot more comfortabe now ) As far as touring is concerned she LOVES the Buell
