Headers glow when things are hot, I would think that the exaust gases are hot enough to get the primary to the temparature to glow. If it is running real lean it would probably be more likely to be glowing, so check your spark plug for a reading. |

I said the 180 is too rich where the needle overlaps the beginning of the main jet - there is a slight lag there. The 48 primary is fine. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Finished the project! The custom exhaust is on the Black bike and the Force is on the Red - I now have a rather quite ultra hi performance exhaust which really rocks - Terry should patten that puppy with the set-up I added - I'm getting very nice results from the set up, and now the Red is pretty maxed out as well - all in all a good day - though Modesto HD/Buells work sucks - the new bearing slipped out on a wheel change - so using bearing glue to see if that cures it - they had greased it - sigh - and I paid them money - grr - I could have bought a new wheel for that price and had none of these headaches and their rep would have never been in doupt. - such is life. Even with that I am very pleased with the results all around.GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Bearing Locktite probably will not work, I would use the JB Weld. Tell me about the custom exhaust....Pictures please! Are you talking about the BUB that you found in some shops attic? |

Got some stuff from the big brown truck this morning! Hopefully I can put it on this afternoon. Quick question before I head out to buy some jets, any recomendations. Bike will have the K&N filter and the D&D exhaust, othewise stock. I was thinking 45/175 to start with and see how that does. Thanks in advance. |

EZ, thanks for the conformation. I got everything on in about 45 minutes this afternoon and the bike sounds pretty mean now and the midrange lag is gone. Should be better tomorrow, all of the HD dealers around me are closed on monday so I will have to pick up the jets tomorrow. Swampy, I found it on http://www.exoticsportbike.com I went with them because every site I found the d&d system on was within a few dollars, and they had the cheapest shipping to my house. The bike actually ran pretty well without rejetting, so I cant wait to see what it will do after getting that taken care of. I have had the bike for a few months now, and I always thought it was tons of fun to ride, but the difference is night and day. Today was by far the most fun ride I have had on the blast. |

Jimrich- I was too busy riding to snap any pics, but I will try to get some up tomorrow. It is quite a bit louder than the VH or Jardine systems I have heard, but not quite big twin harley loud. I think it sounds sweet, but I think I will take it easy around the cops. There are plenty of much louder bikes around, but they don't have a lot to do in my city but write tickets. I doubt I would be hassled for it, but why take a chance, so no WOT around the man. |

I used the 45/175 jets at first (with K&N and pipe) then tried a 48 primary and got even more out of her. Just my two cents... |

In case anyone is interested in being a redneck like me, this is how to make your own muffler can for $10. http://www.sporttwin.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=37979. html#37979 Let the flaming begin. I just cant afford much high dollar stuff since I told my wife I needed the bike to save money. |
