Anyone else get an unexpected package in the mail today? I did, from my pals at Buell. I ripped open the top in an excited frenzy hoping for a new trinket or even the hope I won the 1125 demo drawing. Wrong. I rode the the demo bikes at Road America in July. I received a form letter and an 07 Buell catalog. WTF????????????? | ||

The '07 catalog is a bit odd. Especially considering that at Homecoming, immediately after the unveiling of the 1125R, ALL of 07 catalogs were thrown into the trash. | ||

I'm guessing the complaint is about missed opportunities... not that anybody minds that much getting an outdated catalog in the mail. Kinda like your wife coming home with a Victoria's Secret bag... then you find out it's for her friends bridal shower. Nothing wrong with that... but disappointing none the less  | ||

with all of the junk mail I get, I don't think I'll ever complain about getting anything from the Buell Motorcycle Company! It's much better reading than that other crap I get! | ||

Hehehehehe. .. tell ya how stupid I am . . . when they gave me all the "outdated" and obsoleted "1,000 Buell Made" t-shirts to get rid of . . . well, I kept them. Keep the 2007 catalog . . . ya just never know.  | ||

Hey Court I'll trade ya one of my extra 07 catalogs( I got 3 somehow) for one of those old "throw away" t-shirts  ! Wonder what those are/will be worth? | ||

Geez. If your gonna waste 1.81 on postage wouldn't make the effort to send a Current catalog. I have received the 08 catalog...I am not sure if I picked it up in the dealer or if I got it in the mail. The last thing I am interested in is last years model. Especially with the improvements made to the 08's. Thanks for the offer Randy I all ready have an 08 Catalog. Crusty I am sorry I offended your buell sense. I enjoy the Buell cool-aid as much as everyone. But I am not afraid to call a screw up what it is. Sorry Court. My point is Stewartship....with money tight a buell then how much postage and labor did they just waste sending an obsolete catalog out. T-shirts are great I never ever turn down a free tshirt. I will keep it and put it in the drawer with the rest of my buell literature. In inevitably someone will want a copy down the road for some reason. IMHO these wasted funds could have been better spent. | ||

Given the "doctrine of materiality" it'd be a while before I'd invest a lot of time in much more than saying "oops". In addition, sometimes ANY communication is better than none. . . look at the attention this is getting. Reep......Missed your comment the first time I read the thread. Boy does that ring true. that would certainly turn my smile upside down. Court.....thanks for the offer but I already have the 08 catalog. As always you are helpful and a calming personality. Thank you. At least some of you saw the sad humor in it. | ||

Probably an just an hourly employee mindlessly stuffing the packets...and somehow the '07 packets got mixed in with the '08s. One would think with the big "2008" and 1125r on the cover of the '08 catalog, the person might notice. I guess not. | ||

If it were my company, it would have been something that was a good idea, but kept getting delayed, and was too hard to "stop" once it got rolling. Oh well, missed that one, try again next time kinda deal. | ||

Same thing happened to me. Went for a demo back in June and received a '07 catalog in the mail about a month or so ago. This is after I picked up a '08. I too was expecting a bigger surprise with the padded envelope and letter. But it is still nice to have received something from the factory like that. I just figured they wanted to push th '07 bikes yet! | ||

Give it to someone who has a kid born in 07. Then when the kid is asking for Dad to buy a soy diesel powered 100 hp/230 lb-ft fuel in the frame, perimeter disked single, Dad can pull out that 07 and show what he was lusting for. Some people save JC penneys catalogs some people save Buell catalogs... | ||
