Hey whats up all. I have an 03 XB-9R and im having some clutch problems. When I pull the clutch lever in and bump it down into 1st sometimes the bike jumps foward and sometimes it doesnt. Ive also noticed that on the times it doesn't jump foward if i rev the motor to 2500k or better it starts to pull the bike foward. Ive put a new cable on and adjusted it quite a few times but it does the same thing so its not an adjustment issue. Ive taken the 3 bolt side cover off and adjusted the screw for the clutch numerous times and that doesnt seem to help either. Ive also changed the oil and nothing there either. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be? Do i need to replace the clutch plates or springs? Any info. or help would be appriciated. Thanks. |

It could be that your oil level is too high. Check for other threads on this site as I believe that there have been similar issues. |

I agree. Your tranny/primary lubricant level is likely too high. Get a turkey baster type device and remove a couple ounces. Be sure the level is just toughing the teath on the outer edge of the disk shaped diaphragm spring with the bike upright and on level ground. |
