Specifically interested in the following: *GP Shift conversion From what I've read in various reviews, the "left footpeg hanger has a threaded hole just below the footpeg for reverse/GP-shift pattern for racing applications" } (Message edited by ponti1 on September 26, 2007) |

Security system is standard, 3 mode - always arm, prompt to arm, never arm. +1 on the GP shift conversion. For race upgrades....I rode it today. You don't need 'em unless you're trying to compete on a world level. This bike is that good out of the box, I've never been so confident on a bike so quickly. |

Ponti1, already saw the threaded hole, meaning they've "prepped" for it. I'm interested in if they're gonna make it, and if so, how much? Pretty sure folks like Trojan, et alia, will be all over it in the aftermarket, but if I can get what I want before it rolls out the door, why not? Ratbuell, I don't "need" the race ecm, exhaust, etc. on my X1, but I still wanted 'em. Same thing again - I don't "need" more, but I always seem to WANT it anyways. So if I can get it on Day #1, why not? |

P_squared: I guess I assumed the threaded hole meant they already had a conversion available...Probably a bad assumption. |

Ponti1, not a bad assumption really. If they had the forethought to "prep" the bike for it, it means it's possible they were thinking of making & selling the linkages for it as well. If so, I want to know how much? As for "other" things as I think more & more about it, how about: *Sliders - Handlebar & Swingarm (Frame is covered with the Radiator) |

Hey Ratbuell, I see you work at HD/Buell of Frederick (moderator can move this post to another thread). Do you keep in touch with Blayne (sp?)? I bought 2 bikes from him, not because the dealership was that great, but because he was that enthusiastic about the bikes. If you get a chance, I'd love some pics of route 7 btwn Charlestown, W. VA. and Purcellville, VA. and pics of the crossing at Harpers Ferry during the fall and winter. Depending on the pics, I'd be willing to compensate (booze or $$$). |

P_squared - booze always nets photos, LOL. Last I saw Blaine was about six months ago. He left bikes altogether and is working in construction now. And yes, he was enthusiastic...and the reason I now work for the dealer! I'll see if I can't get some time to take a ride down 7 once the leaves start to change, and get some pics for ya. |

Heated grips are on - one of my options. That, a tour seat for my bony arse and a shop manual, since I'm the primary tech on all my vehicles. Z |

HELLA LOUD HORN: Get a Stebel or just head to the junkyard and look for a good late model Cadillac/Volvo horn or such. (Believe it or not, I have a Yugo horn I'm planning to put on my Shovelhead when I get the engine rebuilt. Nice and loud.) |

Could always mount a couple air horns one facing left and one facing right. That way you can blast sound to people while they talk on the phone. Or you can mount a cell phone jammer and jam people in a block radius. |

ok, i'm REALLY interested in the "weight appropriate springs", ECU & GP shift...those r things I would LOVE to see from the factory as accessories base on the "cost vs. gain" in my view. |
