I dress every day I ride as though today is the day I will have the worst crash of my life. I look like a retard when it's 106* outside, but I dont' care. |

Scars are sexy. I once had a girlfriend dump me for a guy who'd had a chainsaw accident. |

Rainman, did she dump you because of the scars? If so, I wouldn't wanna be with her anyway. Anyway, the girl in the link... Wow, she's cute, she's a fighter, she's into bikes, where do I sign up? Also, I question the guy's riding when this happened? Was he going so fast that she simply couldn't hang on? Was it a gust of wind that sent her off the bike? I guess I'm curious what was controllable in this to have prevented her from coming off the bike anyway. All I know is that she's tougher than I am |

Outstanding Link! I know some people on the board get very tired of some of us beating the ATGATT drum, but a traumatic experience like the one she, I, and others have survived makes you very passionate about this subject. Do not think for one second that this kind of thing can't/won't happen to you because you are too experienced, or just plain too good of a rider. Circumstances beyond your control come into play. Having said all that I believe, as she does, that riding is an in-dispensible part of my life. I can't imagine a life where I don't ride a motorcycle, and I refuse to give it up out of fear of things I cannot control. It's the difference between living, and simply continuing to exist. I'm LIVING. When it comes down to it people have immense reserves of strength that they don't realize that they have. The choice of whether to tap into it and live, or to ignore it and simply exist is all about the individual's strength of character. |

Thumper74, there is a video of her falling of the back of the bike.i don't know how to find it. but i think she was just wearing a tanktop. when the guy she was riding with did a wheelie knocking her of the back at high speed. |

That's very sad. I could not live with my self if I did that to my wife, or any other person for that matter... Actually, there are a few people at work that...oh never mind. Thanks for that link. I'm sold on gear but it never hurts to strengthen your faith. |

Can't be the same girl then, Jim Duncan... in the article she states she was wearing a sweatshirt. That's NOT good abrasion protection, but it's not a tank top either. |

She's been known to post on a few different sites. I know she posted a few times at labusas -- not for the meek Her story, in her words, is pretty good. |

My girlfriend was giving me a hard time the other day because I always make her wear gear. I don't think she'd give me a hard time anymore if I showed her that story. In fact, she probably would never ride with me again. |

We had our 12 year old come in and see the pictures. I explained to her that's why it's so important that she wear her gear. She's never given us a hard time about gear and thinks she has some pretty cool gear, but a picture of reality just helps put it in stone without words. |
