Tank, Are you still with us hoss? If you don't post something here shortly I'm gonna have to give you a call. Charlie, VT sure did put the hurtin' on you South Carolina boys yesterday. There for a few minutes in the 3rd I thought they were going to let it slip out of their grasp. Don't worry though, ya'll will get a chance to avenge the loss in 2011 . |

Jackie, You won't get a rise out of me there.I'm a closet Va tech fan. I live in a household of Clemson and LSU fans, so I have to spend a lot of time in the closet. And after the third qtr. I thought I was going to have to retreat there,go Tech. Thank god for Beamer Ball and a decent defence, because right now that's all they have. That little quarterback is going to have a steep learning curve. Another Vick in the making........Charlie |

You got that right! Their offense is downright horrible. I will say that the little QB has some good running moves but his passing game looks like a Jr. High player LOL! I ain't real impressed with their defense either at this point since they seem to rise to the occassion and then crash hard within the next quarter. Beamer ball or not Boston, Florida and Miami are going to make it difficult to finish the season with good stats. Do you remember Randall? I'd be happy with someone of his caliber sitting in the QB seat. A good fellow who kept his dirty laundry in the hamper where it belongs . |

Still here, bruthas'. Spent part of the weekend putting a computer together for mom. Mostly used parts(like new, from my upgrading), but I bought a CD burner and a new copy of windows xp to put in there. The old one is likely pushing 10 years old, and showing it's age real bad. To give an idea, it was bought when windows ME just came out. Most of the new stuff on the market isn't compatible, and they dont make parts for it anymore. It's a dinosaur. |

Gentlemen, Tonight for your reading pleasure may I present to you a hunting tale filled with triumph, tragedy and every feeling in between. This afternoon me and Nuts hit the woods in search of our first archery kill of the year. The afternoon started slow and saw us move from location to location in search of a likely ambush spot. After reaching our final destination we sat for a few hours and painfully endured the 20 mph wind that seems to follow us whenever Jason goes hunting with me . With an hour of daylight left I look at Nuts and say "any minute now". Sure enough 5 minutes later I catch movement about 60 yards out through the trees. At first I figured it was leaves blowing but soon realized it was the flicker of a deers' tail. I told Jason to get ready in the hopes that he can get himself situated in time for a shot and then I let loose with the bleet call which proceeds to pull in 2 does and 2 fawns to within 40 yards. Since Jason couldn't get into a position to shoot he took over calling duty while I drew back, held for what seemed like an eternity and was finally rewarded with a shot on one of the fawns. I let loose and "THUMP", right through both lungs which resulted in a death run that ended a mere 20 yards behind us! The rest of the deer were reluctant to leave since they had no clue that humans were present or what had just happened. As I work the bleat call and draw the 2 does to within 30 yards Jason prepares for a shot. Finally after several LONG minutes he lets it loose and the arrow planes 3 foot back and about a foot high from where he aimed resulting in a clean miss. As the deer nervously walk away we figured we would try the call again which surprisingly resulted in them walking right back to the same spot. At this point I am getting a horrible cramp in my leg but didn't want to move to avoid ruining his hunt. I painfully begged him to PLEASE take the shot and finally he lets it fly. THUMP, and the doe takes off. After several minutes I went to retrieve mine while Nuts goes to the spot where the doe was standing to pick up the blood trail. After dragging mine to the trail I walk up to where he is standing and instead of blood we find his arrow stuck solidly into a sapling that neither of us realized was between us and the deer. Talk about bad luck! Our hearts sank as we realize that once again his efforts to harvest a deer were met with some bizarre misfortune. The man endures his gun freezing up on him last year costing him several shots only to have a tree jump out and catch his arrow this year . Although it was disappointing that he didn't break his bad luck streak we have added another fond memory to our scrapbook which will be replayed and embellished as time goes on. My early predictions are that Nuts will get his deer this year and with some luck I'll be there to share in the excitement of his success! (Message edited by luvthemtorts on October 13, 2007) |

Nuts, You might not want to go back to the same spot by yourself. That fawn's momma is gonna be looking for you guys and she wont be alone. She smells her babies blood on you,she will stalk you down. And when you lean up against that tree to take your afternoon nap, they will strike. Once they get you pinned down, she'll chew your "gonads" off. As your slinking thru the woods and you feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up,you'll know she's out there.Charlie PS....You might want to take Jackie along since he seems to be a much better shot.Plus if she gets you pinned down, you can always give him up as the shooter. |

Charlie, I just can't get excited about them beating Duke. I think if you, me, Tank and Nuts were to play Duke we could win . If they pull off a win against Boston College on the 25th I will then become a rabid Tech fan again. If they lose I am moving to LSU territory so I don't have to hang my head in shame or make excuses for my team anymore. Nuts, Why didn't you tell me it was an afternoon outting? Are you trying to cut me out of the loop? I have never been known as a game hog and would have gladly let you have first shot (or should I say miss )! Are we gonna do some dirty biking this weekend? I need to go play in the dirt with Scarlett! She is a dirty girl. I might have a line on some replacement tires for ya too! Gimme a shout. The rest of you slackers need to be out riding. The colors are just abut to peak. The sugar maples were all ablaze today! NUTS |

OK Fellas, Last race of the season, have a minor lead in two classes going in. Keep your fingers crossed for us tonight(big finale) I'm borrowing a 600 Honda for the 40+ class to offset all the 600+ Rotax's my poor little 360 Yamaha has been having to run against. Have to ride against 600cc in the Open Vintage, but at least they are old models like we are.Charlie |

Well just got back from the track, what a night.Ended up running the little bike in both classes(didn't like the way the big Honda handled) Got a third in one class and a second in the other, should have won that one(photo finish) Secured enough points in both classes to get the title for both.Going to bed...Charlie |

Charlie, 1st Congrats on the very respectable finishes to the race season! 2nd My original statement stands. Va Tech SUCKS!! Had the receiver covered 4 deep and still gave up a winning touchdown. Simply pathetic. |

Whew Charlie THAT is cold blooded! Come all the way up and not even time for a delicious, frosty cream soda. What a sad state of affairs! Since the Nutster has to work on Wed. I guess he is currently travelling back up from Florida today. Wonder if he will pull the ole' iron butt marathon this go around or break the mileage into to two equal installments of 500 miles each day? |
