Just heard more from our route planners- sounds like it's really coming together on both banks of the Hudson. Phillipe Cousteau has offered the services of the "Calypso" to shuttle us back and forth across the Hudson, and SeAL team 2 (little Creek, Va.) has offered us some personal submarines from which participants may view the Hudson River Queen Sharks. Our Ivy-league interns are furiously working the phone lines to contact both the Discovery Channel and BET to send along a scout for a possible, future docudrama covering the precarious balance in nature between Sportbike enthusiasts and mating Queen Sharks. More to follow as our interns report into HH III HQ. |

IMPORTANT! I just received an email from a fellow badwebber who informed me that his computer was unable to find "top of perkins" via the usual map service websites. It occurred to me that others who are not from the hudson valley area may also be unable to find the start point and therefore would be unable to join us. The formal address which is recognized by Mapquest, Googlemap, and others is: Perkins Memorial Dr Highland Falls, NY 10928 Hope to see everyone there! (except for a certain.........I. Crane) |

Ummm..Fritz...maybe this badwebber should check out the locator map on the www.horsemanrun.us website...Once at Bear Mtn., the signage makes it pretty clear where Perkins Drive/Perkins Tower is. What did all these geniuses do before computers, anyway?} |

I never seen that much smoke roll off a tire! That puts most cars to shame! Ya just need to get'er in 3rd gear. Warm up the tires first/second and then let'r rip in 3rd! 4th is even better...Would have looked better but it was windy that Day.... That was a brandy new Diablo Corsa III,(100 miles or so on it) Got a small slice in it and was deemed un-usable and a safety hazard. I made sure NO BODY would ride on it.... That small run brought it to the cords....So that was a complete tire smoked in less than 2 minutes or so.... I will post some pic's when I get them from scotty_j, Cool pile of rubber I swept up and filled in the rut it left in the road. I practice RESPONSIBLE Burn Outs.... My kids thought it was insane!.... |

How many days 'til? This is bordering on obsession. I'll be doing an east side of the Hudson dry run tomorrow, and fine tuning some routes that Fritz has scouted. I'll post the results. |

The route is a good one. Fritz added some really nice roads. The roads are in great shape; let's hope the weather holds out. It's been perfect riding weather around here lately. I may run it again in the next few days with my wingperson and we'll try to get some better photos. Bear Mountain Bridge (East Side)
Fall Colors are Appearing
Lots of these around here

Nice route, for sure. Hey- big "Thank YOU!" to Jeff and Danbury HD/Buell, who has joined HVMP, etc., as a shirt-sponsor for HH III! Now everyone who gets a run shirt will have no excuse not to contact Danbury HD/Buell, as their number and/or web address will either be on your back, or in your T-shirt drawer. I give Danbury huge props for being the first dealer in the short history of HHR to sponsor our shirts. Now if someone could lend Jeff a GPS, we might actually see him at the run, this year! }} (Message edited by tramp on September 29, 2007) |

New Roc Harley Davidson/BUELL (New Rochelle, NY)has committed to shirt sponsorship, joining Danbury HD/Buell, HVMP and the American Thunderbike Club on the back of the run shirts. The folks at New Roc really liked what they saw on the website, and some of their sales crew are putting in to take the day off and ride some new Buells to the event. Tomorrow I'll be speaking with some NYC and NJ shops, as well... |

Thanks, Duc- Glad you changed your mind in the past couple weeks since your post at ATC. (wisea$s ) We're all going to have a really nice weekend. Firebolteric and his shop will be a sponsor, as well...I have to to get all the info from him. We're most likely adding nice, big, thick hoodies this year....with all shirt-sponsor info on them, too. I like sponsor names all over the back of run shirts, although we're being pretty picky about which potential sponsors we call. The HD/Buell shops I've contacted are pretty smart, they both jumped right on. Jeff at Danbury offered us some really cool incentives, which, for next year, we'll be utilizing. I'm really most excited about the route, this year. I like the addition of a second riding group, as well, that takes it a little easier than the fast group. ...Same route, different speeds. We're expecting some small degree of possible tour & cruiser activity, which is fine. It'll be fun to see how the NEBO Crew and other Sat. night sleepovers look Sunday AM, after a late night telling tall tales over taller brews. Bring cameras and Red Bull. Do you have to pre register for the run? Will Tee's or hoodies be avalible from the vendor/sponser at the top of Perkins on the day of the run? If I should trailer in for Sundays ride, can I leave my truck and trailer safly parked at Danbury? How do you use map quest to find the run? Can someone send me a GPS too? Will I have to fight with Hammer to get a donut or two? |

Danny: 1.No, I do not have to preregister for the run. 2. Haven't decided if Ts and Hoodies will be available the day of the run: Bear in mind, we expect interested parties to preorder shirts for themselves. Of course, this year we'll order extras 3. I'm not sure what a trailer safly is, I presume it's a pesky insect which buzzes about the trailer, so, yes, please leave it elsewhere...anywhere. I'd check with Jeff at Danbury re: leaving exotic insects in their immediate ecosystem. 4.I do not use mapquest to find the run- I would suggest that anyone interested simply check the site www.horsemanrun.us, and then click on the map of the area posted there. Once at Bear Mountain (at traffic circle on W. bend of Bear Mtn. Bridge...kinda hard to miss), follow signs to Perkins monument. 5.Yes, someone can send you a GPS, too. I'm not sure who you should speak to, regarding this. 6. You will not have to fight Hammer to get A donut...as far as two, welllll......I suggest a breakfast that includes Wheaties, first. I'm on my way out the door to attend a quick route-planning meeting....Scenery's here, wish you were beautiful...}} (Message edited by tramp on September 30, 2007) |

Cochise - Thanks for your generous shirt sponsorship, ATC will be proudly displayed on the run shirts, much like the first annual. Staindus, We rec'd. your email, shirt order's going in on Tues. at the latest. Don't worry, though, we'll be sure to have a second order later in the month, as well. ALL makes and models are welcome on this run. As far as things to do beforehand, geez- I don't know. Have a cuppa coffee, maybe take a dump? ...it'll be good to meet you. I'll be the tall nubian woman in stilettos smoking two cigarettes at once.... there's an interesting rumour coming from the website ( www.horsemanrun.us ) that a fun-loving actor presently filming in NYC may be joining us. Ocean's 14, here we come. (Message edited by tramp on October 07, 2007) |
