Anybody have a "smooth" way to remove the front wheel from and XB minimizing the chance of dinging the spokes? Maybe even without the use of a second set of hands? I have done it twice now - and both times inflicted slight damage. I followed the service manual "destructions". |

Have you tried carefully taking the caliper off first and then removing the wheel. Get a bungee and hook it to the caliper and handle bar or something just to keep it out of the way. Easier to control a small caliper than a heavier wheel. |

According to Al at American Sport Bike, loosen the front fender, remove the axle, push the wheel up and back, then rotate the fork leg to get the caliper out of the way. |

I agree with MJHZN6 its only 2 bolts for the caliper, and while your in their you can grease all the slide points on the pads. |

Hey Keith, I put duct tape on the caliper to prevent transferring paint from the wheel to the caliper and vice versa. Keith |
