i've also seen pic's of your old bike before bob. i still love seeing it. buellfart, i really dig the old brough superior too. a local has two of them and they are cool. turned down an offer of 80,000 for the rougher of the 2. not cafe style, about 30 years before the cafe fad really kicked in. |

The geometry and frame layouts of most modern motorcycles make them poor candidates for cafe racers IMO. I think some of the modern twin-shock UJM's and retro bikes would fair better. Nowadays the "streetfighter" has largely replaced the cafe racer.

The Velocette is so cool why can't some one build a production version. |

This is the coolest and best executed American motorcycle based cafe racer I've come across: ...and they're based out of Tokyo, Japan. |

The shock is offset to the left side...dirt track style. It's obscured by the exhaust. Underneath is an aluminum belly pan. |

Yeah the first shot, from the left rear quarter shows what looks like an aluminum box under the engine. Sundance is here: http://www.sundance.co.jp/index2.html "English page coming soon" They do have some Buell stuff hidden in the Sportster product section, by the way. |

Wow that's quite a character. I love the home-madeness of it, cafe spirit, it's a more authentic "Nightster". Although I'm sure those factory rear shocks are sh*t, I love that 2-into-1 Are those car tires? |

The shocks, I dont know, look like Fox or Ohlins... but.. I could be wrong... The heads, tell a different story... Dual Plug... with a Force Pipe, Storz rear sets... Though, it is a newer rubber mount sporty... I do bet that thing hauls some serious a** THAT is my idea of a Sporty... Chase |

Chasespeed you might be right, they just looked like those off the old Sport model, which were nearly universally panned, here's a link to Bossbags pic of the Sport model shocks: http://www.bossbags.com/images/27sport.jpg |
