Anybody tried Shinko 003 stealths?

Or Shinko 005 Advance:

I normally only look at sport touring tires, but I've got a set of Conti Road attacks on the way, I just need some tires for the track day (or two) before my road attacks arrive.

I could get either of those tires for about $200 installed.

What I should do is just get some Diablo Strada's. Race on them, and then just leave them on until they're dead (probably spring), then throw on the Road Attacks.

I really would prefer running on some more track oriented tires though, and the savings would be almost $100.

I'm not going to spend big bucks on a set of track tires that won't get much use. So the options would be the previously posted cheap race tires, or the diablo strada's.

What to do... what to do.

Argh, shoulda done more research before posting.

The shinko's appear to be alright for dragging, but not good for cornering. Not what I want.

I still would like to know general opinions of whether I should get sport tires, or how well new stradas will do on the track.

I have put some Advance on customers bikes, and I wasn't impressed at all. I could get a CBR600 to scoot the back tire around without clutching it.
The sportbike guys around here call them "ditch-finders"

120/70's front

170's factory rear, which is what I'd buy... although rumor has it 180's fit.

180's fit ... Actually becoming commonplace to put a 180 on the tuber rims ... and that is a good Buell dealership that does that .. unless you specify 170 ...

Conti Road Attacks - very good choice. Just put my 3rd set on my xb12s and love them. Bike sticks likes its on rails in the corners and good mileage. Last two sets over 7,000 miles on each. I would have no problem using these on a track.

Just put 100 miles on my new Strada's. Man they feel different than the battlax's.

They just want to fall into corners. I am slowly getting used to them.
