Oh... and I have no intention what so ever of going out and murdering a bunch of people at the local school even though I do own a capable sniper rifle... Go figure. |

I'm more of a pc player as well. Star Wars: Republic Commando was bad a$$. It was a let down in the 3rd prequel when they turn on the Jedi...aside from that, the only real Star Wars game I consider playing is battlefront. And even that one is a rarity. I've been a quake fan since day 1, can't wait for quake wars to come out. Never took diablo to the limits but played religiously for a week til I found out the game was more based on the barbarian than any other character class. Star craft is simple, but it was the first real strategy game with 3 diff classes. Otherwise I'm currently hooked on the latest command and conquer. But WoW still overrides that one on a regular basis. Fear is by far the scariest game I've encountered. Counterstrike source and day of defeat are couple regulars as well. I'd rather be a game freak/geek than alot of other labels out there. |

"it was the first real strategy game with 3 diff classes" Not so fast ... It was just the first popular one . Have you tried Supreme Commander or Medieval Total War II? If you like RTS games at all you should give them a try. They take a while to get your head into but they both have a good pace and great depth. There's more than one way to skin a cat. If you don't have a good deal of horse power try Rome Total War instead of Medieval. I haven't picked up the latest C&C because the others I played (The first three or four) were pretty much rock paper scissors RTS's. Not bad by any means but each type of attack had a clear and concise way of fending it off. That made it all about numbers. In SC and especially in the TW series it's VERY much not like that. You need to use both strategy and tactics. I just played a battle in M2TW yesterday where it was ~1800 units against ~2400 superior units. I spent a decent bit of time maneuvering my army to gain the high ground and was able to decimate the enemy when he had to move up hill into a wall of about 900 pikemen. Of course I then brought William Wallace around the upper flank with about 230 Noble Highlanders. As 1/3 of his army broke I chased them down with two units of light cavalry. and used my two units of Mailed Knights to charge in wedge formation into the low side of the flank just after the highlanders had gotten their attention. It is a bit of a slower pace than Starcraft at times (although a castle siege where you have 600 units against 1200 and the bastards brought catapults, siege towers and ladders can get pretty frantic...). It's like two games as well. The strategy portion is like a turn based board game (but like none you've ever played) and when armies meet they fight it out on a map that's correct for the location that they met. Most of Europe is modeled. Rain affects archer effectiveness etc... A really neat game. You can probably get Rome TW in the bargain bin if you wanted to check it out. Don't bother with Merchants... They're not worth their price. Try to have a couple good assassins though. |

Cmon. Everybdy knows that Quake and Q2 were the best ever. Quake 3 Arena was gay. Castle of Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem were all I needed. |

try qauke 4 yet? quake 2 is still my all time fav 1st person multiplayer shooter, but quake 4 was the best version of the single player. |

I have Q4 for my pc, I got the DVD addition. Love it. I used to play Q2 as MyBigC**k, it was hilarious...."fred was railed by MyBigC**k. The macros were excellent. I gotta say, that's where my online obnoxiousness came from. |

Holy balls, that was a riot man. I think I had every mod (including custom skins) and every map made for all the Quakes NIN was a theme for ID Soft for a while. |

Fear is pretty freaky. I played it with my 22" LCD monitor, two 512 PCI express cards and was able to turn the graphics up just about all the way. My surround sound took it over the top. It wasn't scary, but the voices... I'd say the scariest game I've ever played is Resident Evil 2, followed by Resident Evil Directors Cut, and the most recent on PS2. |

Some people may say that we're geeks for playing vid games, but its pretty damn relaxing. I'd much rather play Halo3 on my Xbox 360 than watch Oprah. (Message edited by BuellinaChinashop on September 28, 2007) |

I remember when Castle of Wolfenstein morphed into Doom. I missed a few days of work playing that on my laptop. When Doom first came out it was a demo. I must have spent 100 hours looking for hidden rooms in the demo alone. |

I bought 4megs of ram so I could play the demo! Can you believe it cost over $50! Ended up buying the game when Windows95 came out because you could all three Dooms for like $25. |

doom had so many mods...but the most hard corps thing I ever saw was the "quake done quicker" intro. This guy could do quake 1 in under 16 mins. The whole game. And he had it so you could take the saved run and view it as your game intro. I hope i'm not the only one that saw that one. |

Interceptor...ever play Call of Duty on line? Not bad at all. The worst thing they could have done to Doom was to make a movie out of it. |

and whats worse than that is the fact they didn't even have the cyberdemon! The cheesy factor was already in effect. |
