I'm in a dilemma. I've modified my XB12 to the point that it fits me like a glove. Seriously. It rides great, but only downfall is it lacks power in the range *I* need (top end). Regardless, I am a gluten for art and mechanical marvels. I modified this bike with subtle changes where I spend hours on day staring at it. Pictures of the bike all over my work place and home. I just stare at it. Whatever Erik's team did, they did right. SS with a short tail conversion, right side scoop, evil-eyes windscreen, belly pan, I'm in love with this bike. I feel like I married a hot cheerleader who just lays in bed and makes me do all the work But, I'm seriously considering the 1125r, more for its power/agility than for its looks. I'm in a dilemma. Anyone else out here going through the same? Raise your hand and tell us your name |

No dilemma; just need another 10 square feet of garage space. |

i miss mine often...then i crack the throttle of the new bitch and that goes away...it is a tough decision...if u can keep the old and get the new well then go for it...i know when i feel like just goin out and riding around town there was no better bike than my XB..just a little more oof and it would of been the perfect motorcycle...if the 1125 looked like my old XB i would of been all over it like snoop dog on a fat arsed ho'..if the looks of the 1125 dont bother u then i say go for it..nuthin like that new bike smell ....like a painter that just got finished with a painting he loves...theres always a new canvas waiting..think of it as a chance to paint a whole new picture. No dilemma; just need another 10 square feet of garage space. Yep! Get the 1125R...ride them both for a month. Then sell one. My personal feeling is that you should go with the 1125...it's going to preserve the rideability of the Buell and give you the power you want... |

You know there was a photoshop here where someone merged the scoops with the front fairing. That definitely improved the look of the bike. I'm sure aftermarket will have a field day with scoop designs. As long as the 1125r can do double duty and behave in the city (which if it has gobs of torque at 2500rpm or so, should do), then as someone said, it seems like a XB12R but with 3000 more rpm of the same peak torque. The looks are what I would miss of the XB. Also the feeling that you can hop on, start it, and go. Little to no maintenance. I'll consider keeping the XB for a while longer, that is also an option. |

I was just saying to Reg this weekend that I decided several years ago to never sell a bike. There's a few reasons behind this, not the least of which is that my bikes are worthless by the time I buy a new one. I already can't fit a car on my side, but I've measured out, and I can fit nine more bikes comfortably. Will be making my next addition in a little less than a month. After that, who knows? Danny 95 S2 02 V-Strom 04 St4s (buyback w/ FIFTEEN miles on it) 09? 1125R XX WR250X ... ... |

This is why I'm waiting two years. I KNOW I would miss my XB so I'm not parting with her. I'd rather save for two years & get my XB an 1125R stablemate than trade her in. Besides, I've finally learned that a "paid for" bike is the best bike of them all. The 1125R will be bought outright, no financing. |

i'm seriously considering an 1125. i have the cash to buy one. will i miss my x-1. probably not. it will make a good chopper with the frame i have in my garage. the way the old buells are holding value why not. I doubt the old buell x-1 will ever be a collectible bike and if i'm wrong, i'll chalk it up with my cb 900f super sport that i sold way too cheap.the 1125r is probably one of the few buells that actually hold some kind of value (Message edited by tom_b on September 13, 2007) |

Chopping older Buells has become quite popular. If you have a little mechanical know-how, you might look into doing a hillbilly conversion and keep the 1125R as your sport bike, and the chopped XB for a head turning commuter!! With the trade value of used Buells, that might be the best way to go..... |

I sold it. It was a good bike. The new one will be a good one, too. |

Traded my 03 XB9R to my little brother last week. Yes I miss it. Now have his '95 Z-28 instead of the Buell and a Shovelhead for wind - 1982 FXWG 90". Have the cash, waiting for Sun H-D to get their load of 1125s, I get #2, in the crate. Just joined here, thanks to all you insiders with pix - have seen a few so far and it's good to see the shots from the track-days. Z |

I will buy a 1125R for cash, but I don't have the heart to sell my XB. Will I ride the XB after I get the 1125R? Probably not, but I'm not giving my old ride away for pennies on the dollar either. If anything, I've been thinking I'll dry-store her in the den with a bunch of Buell memorabilia like a piece of art. You never know, she just may be worth something some day. Now if I can just get the big man to sign her frame... As for the looks of the 1125R, I don't care that she's not R1 beautiful. She's unique and on the spec sheet has everything I've ever dreamed of owning on a sportbike. The unique factor is why I got into Buells in the first place. This is interesting to discover about myself. I've always been an individualist, so it's high praise for the brand for someone like me to become a loyalist. |

I bought a new XB12Scg back in March, love it! Then I bought a new Aprilia Tuono, because of the liquid cooled high output Rotax!! A MONTH later, Buell announces THE 1125R (BUMMER) My point is that I STILL ride my aircooled, vibrating Buell as much as I ever did. Having paid cash for both these bikes, I don't see me getting an 1125R anytime soon.. it wouldn't replace the aircooled Buell anyway, neither does the Aprilia.. The Buell is Cuell...just my $.02 worth, YMMV......Rodger |

I will keep the XB and have it "casually" for sale--Craigs list I guess. If someone wants to buy it for a reasonable price. Cool. If not, I have a spare bike for those times when the 1125R might be in for service or for friends who want to get off their Cruisers and ride real bike. No biggie either way. |
