September 25, 2007 Harley-Davidson Shuts Down Buell MX Bike Project Racer X has learned from one of the people hired by Buell to manage its new off-road/motocross bike program that the parent company, Harley-Davidson, has shut down the whole project. A press release is said to be coming as early as tomorrow. No other details were offered, other than the fact that everyone was shocked by the decision. |

We bought a new body chevy 2500hd with the duramax so we had to get a bigger trailer to match . BUT....now We have the trailer my transmission has decided to screw up. I think the shift forks and some gears are the problem. Anyone have a Baker 6 speed trans? |

happy new year all !!! i just got back from a 200+ mile ride thru the mountains today. we started out at the new year's day ride from the dudley perkins h-d store in south san fran. probably a few bikes short of 100. all harleys except my bros' m2, a new triumph twin, and me on a tuono. anyway, a very unstructured, anarchistic, thunderous ride from the dealership onto 101, then up the mountain to skyline drive for breakfast at alice's restaurant. we split from the milwaukee boys and went on our own ride all over the place from peak to valley, peak to valley, etc., etc., etc. we rode for about 5 hours. lots of elevation changes, twisties, speed blasts and general fun. yesterday was a blast up highway 1 on the coast north of san fran to stinson beach, then up mt. tamalpais. (that's where they did the car commercials where the road rises up under the car like a banked speedway)great scenery and wonderful roads chrismas day was a mountain tour as well, with a highway 1 component between san fran and santa cruz. the weather has been a mix of rain and sun. our ride days were sunny and a bit warmer than indiana. i see from the weather forecast that it may be in the upper 50s in indiana this coming weekend. if the rain stays away, that is DEFINITELY riding weather! anyone interested? |

Last time I checked H-D/Buell of Bloomington had a service department staffed with very experienced, qualified tecnicians capable of rebuilding suspensions. |

Absolutely, I would not forget to check with them to see what they charge. Want to learn how to do them myself but may just be worth paying for it. I still need to fix my trans. |

Would anyone happen to have a clutch spring removal tool? Need to start on the trans and will buy one when I order parts but need to get it apart first. Called Bloomington HD there going to do my forks for a good price. Is there anything I can have them do that will make them perform better with out throwing a lot of money in them? Who's going to Homecoming? |

Stop by the dealership and ask for either Richard Hankins or Joe Stines. Both of these technicians have over 35 years experience each and will be happy to discuss the benefits of various front suspension upgrades as well as the cost. I would certainly trust their knowledge over some self proclaimed "expert" posting on a board. The type of upgrade you should consider will depend on what type of riding you plan on doing. They'd also be happy to answer any questions you have concerning your transmission problems. |
