Okay, somehow I JUST found out about this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this basically a freeware version of VDSTS? Not the exact same thing of course, but doesn't it accomplish the same tasks? I checked the BadWeb Search, but didn't see any specifics, only that it "tunes". If so, I'm definitely going to look into it. $200 vs. FREE = easy decision! ~SM |

For the most part, you're correct but you MUST dyno tune any map unless you can get a map from somebody who has an identical motor. Mis-programming CAN melt down your motor. The control over your engine does enable you to run too lean at any RPM band and MOST dyno operators will run you in inertia mode - meaning wide open throttle... meaning you can miss a mid-throttle lean condition. Just something to think about. I think ECM spy is a great idea, just move cautiously and read up. REalize that you are tuning TWO SEPARATE SINGLE CYLINDER engines - not tuning a "map" for a twin. Front and rear are tuned separately. |

Actually, I'm only interested in something that can pull off a TPS reset. I'm too chicken to go "tuning" all by myself! ~SM |

I pulled an old computer from storage and put it in my shop last week. I installed ECMspy and played it in demo mode. I downloaded the tuning guide and read it. I've been reading the many posts on UK Buell Entheusiasts Group. My Sportster is on my lift right now getting a new clutch and primary chain. As soon as it is finished, I'm going to get/make a cable and put the Firebolt up and learn TPS at first...(There is a thread on Knowlege Vault http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/3591.html?1190526840 that we should be writing on. I'll see you all over there from now on.) Hex |

Lots of people getting into ECMspy on Buelletinboard.com with good results. I'd check out this thread for all the info you could probably want: http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?t=3351 |
