I don't know what it is about this bike that makes it so irresistible?? This morning I am off to work. I have two cars sitting in the driveway. It is raining like crazy. And here comes the strange part!! I open the garage. Get my Aerostich on, jump on Uly and ride to work!! I've owned over 40 bikes over the years, but non had the same effect on me like this one!! I hope I am not the only one? |

Don't worry, that's normal Uly rider behavior. |

You got a bad case of Uly-itus. I got it too. My feet are still damp from the ride in this morning and when I get off in two hours it will surely be pouring out. 30 miles one way, traffic from hell, and I'm riding in the rain. At least it isn't hot out there. I will take the rain over the heat any day. |

I am glad to know that there are others out there with the same problem! |

I am still coming to grips with the idea of an "off season" (WI winter), and not doing too well with it. That's what trailers are for, I guess. |

I had to drive 2.5 hours up the road to FT Campbell today and it took me 6.5!! I had a small deviation up the Natchez Trace Parkway adding a ton of mileage to an other wise fast ride to work up through Nashville morning traffic. Is a 4.5 hour long way to work a normal symptom Uly-itus? What are the full symptoms of Uly-itus? 1. Riding in the rain with a dry ride available. 2. Getting up early to ride "Extra miles" before you have to be somewhere. 3. See a stranger on a ULY during your ride and turn around to find out who it was. Any other ULY-ologists out there with some other symptoms to watch out for? http://www.mytriplogs.com http://www.mytriplogs.com" Free, personalized travel maps at mytriplogs.com |

Weekend before last I rode from Raleigh, NC to Wichita, KS 1,261 miles most of it in the rain. Arrived thinking....sure glad I didn't fly; only two weeks of school before I can ride home. Wife thinks I definitely have the sickness you speak of. ULY MAGIC = Rotorhead-thanks for the link! (Message edited by flynuly on September 24, 2007) |

Sorry..removed the Map it was a lot larger that I expected. Will shrink it down for next time. I pop in there occasionally also, and you're correct they ARE some very helpful people who don't beat you for being new. |

My Uly map to date: Free, personalized travel maps at mytriplogs.com Uly-itis is a real affliction; it's most obvious symptom is the silly grin that accompanies riding on an XB12X, and an overwhelming desire to ride for longer lengths of time to distances of increasing length. |

Here's my map since I bought the Uly in March:
We did kind of cheat on vacation and just barely crossed the border of TN,LA,ID and MT. You can probably guess where we crossed the Tennesee border. Looking at makes me wish I would have taken a little longer day ride while I was in Kansas City (Message edited by mattwhite on September 26, 2007) |

I wish I had the time!! Yeah. I have 23,000 miles on my Uly. It has been to Daytona for Bike Week, plus two March Badness even if on a trailer the second time. Its taken me from Indiana to North Carolina with a five hour detour through the Appalachian mountains for 720 mile day ride. In its second life it has been to West Virginia and back and in a couple of weeks its going back to Suches GA for a redo of March. So far I have ridden in NC, SC, GA, FL, TN, VA, WV, KY, OH, IN. Not bad since I have never ridden longer than three days at a time on the Uly. I want to ride cross-country on it, but refer to the statement above. |

Im glad I live in Cali where the weather is mostly nice most of the year. Anyone want to buy a 2000 Chevy Z-71? |

Mike . . .it seems like somehow the states need to "touch" somewhere . . . or did you pull back on the bars and fly over the midwest?

Mike . . .it seems like somehow the states need to "touch" somewhere . . . or did you pull back on the bars and fly over the midwest? Unless you want to buy me a set of tires, I'm not going to waist mine on 3k miles of straight flat interstate. I've gone through 3 sets of tires since March. Riding to Sturgis would've been another set. |
