Howdy folks; I'm an Other-Brand biker checking in... I got back into riding a little over a year ago, after a 14 year break. I have put 8000 miles on a little Ninja 250. (A fun bike, but...) So, I'm considering getting a new bike in a year +-, and I'm wondering what are your favorite Buell shops in the area. Thanks!!! Don |

Hi, I live in Southern Pines. I'm other brand at the moment but I've had two XB's. I liked Ray "High" Price in Raleigh. |

Welcome to C3! Depending on how far you want to drive, check out Shelton's HD/Buell in Goldsboro. They have a Buell friendly service writer and tech. John Martindale in sales is a Buell enthusiast. |

Thanks for the pointers... Goldsboro is sort-of a haul, but if they are good folks, it can be worth the trek. I do most of my own service work, so I'd mainly be chasing down parts... (and hopefully not too much of that) But it's nice to have an enthusiast shop to deal with, bench race, ogle & fondle etc... Rubberdown, I live off 24/27 between Carthage & Robbins. It's maybe too much to wish for that Sandhills Cycle took on the line. |

For parts, most of us order from our sponsors here on BadWeB. Several have a good supply on hand, Shelton's is still limited in that area. |

Okay, thanks Ulywife! That partly answered another question. Some companies (like Stihl saws & yard tools) forbid their dealers to sell -equipment OR parts- online, mail order etc. Their sales model is 100% local dealer, in-person sales only. A 'good' dealer would likely ship parts to an existing customer in a 'remote' location... via telephone & credit-card pre-pay order but would be taking some risk by violating their terms. How about shop repair manuals & parts books? I know I bought a H-D factory repair manual for my '87 XLH at the local dealer, so hopefully Buell is equally willing with the Good Books. Ideally be able to call in an order by part #, and have the order shipped to the house. |

Yes, you can order parts and service manuals for any Buell. We just ordered a parts manual for a 99 Cyclone. Some of our sponsors offer a 10% discount to BadWeBr's. By time I'd drive to Goldsboro to get parts and pay the tax, it's actually cheaper (and usually quicker) for me to order from a sponsor. I haven't paid taxes, pay shipping, get a discount and it's delivered to my door and I can order at 3:00 a.m. if I want to. It works for us. |

Welcome to C3. Shelton's actually has three stores. All three are good with Buells because their Buell people are spread out. On top of Goldsboro, they have stores in Smithfield and Durham. Good folks that support the brand better than most. If you go to Durham, ask for Dave, if you go to Smithfield ask for Jeremy. As for other brands, we don't care. We have folks on Suzuki, Yamahas, Harleys, Kawazakis, BMW and so on. We have a good time when we get together, so don't be shy to jump in. Mike - Rubberdown and Jim - U4euh are right in your area. They are excellent riders and good folks. |

Hey Don! Welcome to C3. Wish I would have checked in sooner, we could have done some riding this weekend! There isn't much between Carthage an Robbins! You live on 24/27? Follow 24/27 out to Biscoe and I work at AutoZone part time. Work at Candor elementary in Montgomery county full time. You make it up to Morrow Mountain any? |
