Hi i have been reading this form for a long time and it help me alot...but today i saw a 05/06 firebolt xb12r that had the muffer reomove and just welded a 10" to 12" pipe...i know you would lose power but wouldnt that hurt the motor??? |

If you have the ECU and intake set up to run a straight pipe, it won't hurt anything (other than your ears). It would not be the best performing machine though. Back pressure is a good thing. |

If the ECM is not properly mapped for the exhaust's flow characteristics then yes, the motor could be damaged if a lean condition exists. testing board, please ignore my "edit" (Message edited by Blake on September 26, 2007) |
