Hi, does anyone know if there are overhaul kits (O rings etc) available for the solenoid operated fuel taps on these bikes please? |

That may be a Court question. I can't find the RS/RSS series in parts lookup, and we don't have any books in the shop for 'em either. Sorry |

I can get the info. You may need to be a bit patient as I am under 3 coincident major deadlines . . . 4 if you include my youngest sons wedding. A couple of years ago, for the TEAM ELVES Bonneville pursuit we needed to rebuild a couple of the solenoid and increase the size. Aaron has all the contact info. I'll see what I can find. Court |

Thanks Ratbuell and Court. No rush for this, but while the tank is off and has no fuel in it over winter, it makes a lot of sense to overhaul them both. The taps were dripping a little gas when I took the tank off a few weeks ago. I dare not strip them down in case I cannot get the bits to reassemble them again! Court, if you are too pushed for time, please let me know and I'll mail Aaron directly and ask. Thanks. |

Thanks Tim, FMJ. Tim, I've just put a new rocker switch on the bike, the old one was bad, maybe check that? The rocker switch can be bought from any auto parts store. Whatever I find out it will be posted here for sure. Cheers. |

I think you can order new ones from Buell. Go thru Kim, Erik's admin. She can get those to you, thru EFB Designs, I believe. Old buell parts they maintain in a closet somewhere. or they can direct you to the rigth spot. rex 262 642 2020 |

Hi Old School Guys :-) The RR's and RS's use 12VDC solenoid valves. They're made by Precision Dynamics. Factory ones are B-series, part number B2017-BB-BI-GV. That means 3/16 orifice, 1/8" npt fittings, brass body, bottom inlet, gasoline valve. Best wishes from Germany Basti |

Rex, FMJ, Basti, thanks. If anyone needs to replace a tap that isn't working, then they need the one from FMJ more than I do. Mine are both working, just dripping a little gas. I'll see if I can track down the guys Basti mentioned first off to see if I can get an overhaul kit. Thanks a lot guys. |

Here's the information on fuel tap reconditioning- Steve, The basic parts you will need to fix that valve are a plunger, spring, and o-ring. The part numbers are: 103-200-20-38 Plunger List $11.50 110-001-20-01 Spring Included in price of plunger 115-001-00-16 O-ring List $.80ea We have a $100 min order if you order direct, so in your case is may be best to buy through our UK facility, and you can contact them at Gems Sensors Ltd. Lennox Road Basingstoke, Hants. United Kingdom RG22 4AW Phone: (44) 1256-320244 Fax: (44) 1256-473680 Email: sales@gems-sensors.co.uk Website: www.gems-sensors.co.uk Best Regards, Chris Olmstead Product Specialist If we can get enough interest in these to get a $100 order together, then it's the best way to order these and divi them up? I need enough for 2 taps. Otherwise I'll see if the UK distributors will sell them to me. (I'll probably have a £100 minimum order value if I do this.) Steve. |

does Buell still have any? Might save a bunch of screwing around, at least for US folks, if you can get them from Buell. Call Buell and ask for Tom Anglim. Leave him a message and he will get back to you, I haven't dealt with this in a long while but the last time I checked they had a box full. |

There are no rebuild parts at Buell but I just spoke to TA and there are complete solenoid assemblies. He didn't recall the price but was thinking they were on the order of $100 each. |

Thanks Dave and Court. OK, so that's 3 orders for total of 5 sets. Any more? So far that's about $60 worth. Could anybody order from the US please? If I order from the UK, they'll cross the Atlantic to here and then I'll have to post them back to you again. If somebody can order then I'll Paypal my $'s over anytime you like. Thanks. |

Thank you Andy. I have replied to your mail. Being real anal about this I want to keep the original screws in the bodywork. Sad, I know. I could use some PTFE washers though, the ones I have are "tired". |

Are these the units under discussion? The ones in the photo were on the stock 91 RS bodywork that I sold to Bart (midwest B'webber) a while back. Had I known those pups were a C-note per piece - I'd have charged more for the parts! (just kiddin' Bart)

Steve, I'll check at work tomorrow to see if we do business w/Predyne. if so, probably can get a discount. So, no hex head body bolts.... no prob. would anyone be interested in phillips head replacements? I think the bolts come in box of 100 - more than enough to last me a lifetime. I'll get the order out this week. |
