Well......we have already figured out that many Buell owners here are also Harley owners including myself. With the talk of Buell releasing a dirt machine in the future, it made me wonder how many dirt/motocross riders we have here. Lets see what Buell riders ride off-road just for $hits and giggles ! Here's mine ; 2001 XR650L Moose skid plate Dunlop D606 tires with 130 rear R model tail lamp bar end mirror(same one I use on my XB9) 14 frt 48 tooth rear sprockets Uncorked and rejetted Uni air filter

PW 80!! My bigger dirt bike may come when it has Buell on the tank. The only mods are some fool cut the muffler off and I built a custom extension for the rear shock mount to make the seat height bearable for a guy my size. The only pic I can find in a hurry.

Modifications? 1) Unmodded intake (back to stock) 2) Unmodded exhaust (back to stock) 3) Stainless steel braided front line on the way. Still lots of stuff to fix... it is an 85 with about 10k miles, and has a LOT of little niggling things to go over. It's a great little dual sport though. |

1981 MAICO 250! Unfortunately, I can't get my pictures shrunk down enough to post. Also, it broke my leg three weeks ago so I can't ride for another 3 weeks. Probably be snowing by then. |

I also have a KLR 650 similar to 98's. Maybe Reep will post the pics for me. I'm so dumb! DangerDave, those pics on the beach are scrumptious. Where is that? NZ or Australia? |

I'm in the market for a dirt bike. Looking at a Yamaha TTR125L. My hubby has a 1975 Bultaco Altina. My hope in doing the dirt is to become a better street rider. Was only on a dirt bike once and while going down hill hit a washout and the R handle bar came crashing into my thigh. and it hurt. But I'm wanting to try it again. |

I think I know what sticker I want to put on the side of my KLR 250 tank (it looks booringly blank)... Acme Dirtbike (with a little mushroom cloud) |

Jewels, get a super-sherpa and it will do decent in the dirt (provided you aren't trying to jump triples) and also make an entertaining little commuter. The KLR-250 is nice as well, but is pretty tall and is kick start only, so probably not the best fit for you. Probably easier to sell when you are done as well, I can't imagine a better starter bike for somebody. |
