Looking for the hardware for the Beson exhaust. I recently picked one up for my race bike once the motor gets built but does not have hardware. Thanks |

Doubt that you'll find any mounding hardware. Springs are easy at any motorcycle supply house. You'll likely need to have the mount fabricated. It's a simple welding job to make a saddle that also bolts to the bottom of the engine - and ties to the can with T-bar type band clamps. Don't have any pics - sorry about that. |

thanks Slaughter, I work for Harley in La so springs are not a problem. I was just wondering about the bracket and what it looked like. Thanks again |

I'll see if I can take a pic of the bracket. Pretty simple really. The motor is XB9 bored to 3 13/16 bore (1169cc), NRHS stage 3 heads, 585 cams, high pressure fuel regulator, I have Jim's semi-solid lifters but I'd just stay with stock lifters and rods. I've kept compression at 10.5 to 1 - lets me run pump premium and besides, the higher compression just hits reliability. The motor was originally built for a 6 hour race. I have the Factory race module and Beson pipe so I can run leaded race fuel. (no oxygen sensor). "Soft" rev limit set at 7800 with "hard" limit at 8000 for sprint racing. I set soft rev limit to 7500 for long races. You can't tweak redlines without the race module. Crank is lightened/balanced. The short stroke motor revs up quick! Theres' other details in the heads, HEAVY springs, manganese bronze bushings, roller rockers. Because I have the semi-solids, I also got the Zippers removable pushrod covers since I have to adjust the pushrods. (Message edited by slaughter on September 21, 2007) |

Hey - how far are you from Michoud? I have to hit there a couple times a year. You race CMRA? I have friends out of the Dallas area who race with CMRA and they're down LA way for I think one or two races a year. |

What have you done to the intake system, did you put something else on or using a 12? |

Michoud, in New orleans Didnt know there was a track around there. I live about 45 mins south/soutwest of new orleans in Houma. There is a local track here No Problem Raceway but there is no racing just track days. With my schedule Its hard for me to get away for more then a day or 2 so its just for fun right now |

I mis-spoke! I work at Lockheed and a couple times a year I go to Michoud. The CMRA guys race at 3 tracks in TX, Hallet in OK and there's at least one race in LA. I'll see if I can get you a pic of that exhaust hanger today - you might be able to rig something up based on the pic. |

Pics were taken by a buddy of mine when I was still kidding myself about some parts of the cases being repairable. Yes, it's dirty and oily - happens when you tear holes in the engine when the bike tumbles end-over-end starting at about 120MPH (entering turn 8 at Willow Springs) Don't know if the pics help but you can kinda see the inverted T hanger bolted to the engine case and the 2 band clamps holding the muffler can. Again, the T is not square because the Beson muffler is slightly diagonal under the engine. Too bad that Tom Beson had to get out of the business because of health reasons. He was a good fabricator. You might also call Terry at Hal's Racing - they might even have one or be able to fabricate one for you... just a thought. They were the first folks to race the Beson and they might just have parts lying around????

Rhinehart <sp?> is now making a pipe nearly identical to the Beson. That's what Hal's is selling right now in place of the Beson pipe. |
