Hello all; I recently found this forum, and have been browsing & soaking it up for a few days. I'm glad to see there is a lively 'family' of Buell enthusiasts here, and somewhat shocked to see that there is some representation on board from The Company. Anyways, in the next year or so, I'm looking to get another (big) bike. I've sort of fell in lust with it, so the 1125R is at the top of my 'short list.' The only other contender at this point are the BMW F800S or maybe a ZX10. I'm mainly a commuter, and my little bike does that fine & with my little upgrades, it handles like a dream... I just really miss my two riding buddies: Mr. Power & Mr. Torque. A question for the NC folks... which Buell dealership in the region would you rate as the one that 'gets it' the most? I had a great relationship with my local HD shop back when I rode those, but they don't carry Buell. Ray Price in Raleigh is the closest to me, but Greensboro & Charlotte aren't much further away. (All about an hour drive.) Can HD shops get Buell parts or are they exclusive to the dealers that carry the line? Thanks for having me and I'll try to not frustrate y'all with my newbieness & dumb questions. (Like "What's a Tuber?" assuming that's a 1st gen bike with the tube frame) Don |

I'll answer the part I can: A Harley dealership cannot get Buell parts unless they are a Buell dealership also. Unless you're smart enough to know if the part you need crosses over to a sporty, in which case you can just ask for the sporty part. |

Don, Ask the question in the Storm Fronts/ C3 (Carolina Corner Carvers) thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 97725.html?1189855983 You've got quite a few Badwebbers in your area and they'll be glad to answer your question. |

im waitin for the 1125 to show up here in washington...if it blows me away i will sell the new CBR and go for it...ugly or not...wouldnt be the first ugly thing that i rode....i might be smart and wait for the next model year...thats why i went with the 06 honda..i have something to amuse me until i find something that blows my mind..i kinda fell into the whole buell thing by accident a few years ago and now im a beliver but...that 1125 is uuugly....giant leap in the right direction..maybe il wait til a few of the 1125's get wrecked and figure out a way to put the motor in an XB .the new R-1 is kinda nifty, the new honda ,,,also interesting, new kwak...not bad i like the fact that it is all blacked out..but i could find an 07 kwak now for cheap..sooo the dilema goes on...i might keep the honda and do some stuff to it..or get the 1125 and take it straight to the powder coater and get the frame blacked out and the wheels and swingarm...it all hinges on the ride...when cityxslicker gets the 1125 il go ride it and see how i feel...sooo many great bikes sooo little money . i need another job. |

LMAO @ Molly. Get a side job at the powder coater! My 'practical' side (The side that has no points against the driver's lic. in over 5 years) tells us to just keep riding the baby Ninja forever: It's paid for, and it saves aprox. $130/mo in fuel vs commuting my '88 Jeep Cherokee XJ. (Operating costs beyond fuel are eerily similar though.) I'll admit to there being way more cool/interesting bikes than room in my garage. I only need one or two. Dammitall! Maybe three. Or four. But for my usage, one can do 98% of it. Has Buell hinted at an approx target # of 1125Rs in the first run? |

I highly doubt that Buell will list any production numbers. It wouldn't suprise me that after they fill exsisting orders, that they slow down. I am sure their production will all hinge upon how many orders are placed WITH deposits, and how well the bike is received into the market come this spring. |

Molly, it might be worth waiting a year and see if they come out with an S version. I know several people have asked for one. The next few years should be VERY interesting for the Buell Motor Company!! |

XJWoody - Good to see a new face in NC. I'm in Raleigh. Rubberdown is in Soutern Pines, and U4euh is in Jackson Spring. You are lucky enough to live in an area with several good Buell dealers. I use Ray Price (mikethebike72 from this board works there.) Sheltons is also good. Tillys is good if you're going west, and there are several more that I can't name of the top of my head. You will find that talking to the right people at the dealership makes a huge difference in how things go. If you're going to Ray Price, send Mike a PM and ask him who you should talk to. I think Kristi already gave you names of people at Sheltons. |

Tilly's does some wild stuff!;0) Tilley's did some wild stuff! would be a more accurate statement. You have to search their store in Statesville pretty hard to find Buell stuff. Things went downhill when Bubba left them. Their Salisbury store doesn't carry Buell, so don't worry about going there. 1313 |

I think the 1125R is ugly the way certain guns are 'ugly'. They are so designed for their purpose with obvious disregard for aesthetic touches that would diminish the purpose of the product that you must still respect design. My friend wrote a poem about his SKS rifle, in fact...noting that its beauty stemmed from its functionality. I think the 1125R is like that. |

Tilley's buell stuff is easy to find. It is right behind the bikes on the sales floor. They had shirts and some OEM carbon on the shelf too, The first time I have ever seen it. I was thru there on August 8th. Then on to Lexington for some Q. |
