So the girlfriend got me an `05 inner airbox cover, and some "S" pegs for our anniversary. Now I'm contemplating just cutting out the top of the lid and doing the wingnut hold down, vs. the jail-cell bars design I did on my 9 box. Alot of people in the KV seem to recommend removing the snorkel. Yet some of the more avid posting members have posted pics of what I would assume to be their own bikes, but the snorkels are still on. Theoretically isn't the snorkel beneficial? in retrieving cool clean air? rather than sucking it out of the area in which the dirt hot nasty engine resides? P.S. I would have posted in the KV, but it seems the traffic has slowed down in there. |

Well from 06 and on the hole in frame was removed, along with the snorkle. the theroy I heard was that the intake snorkle was robbing air for cooling the engine. So now the air flows through the outer airbox cover around the fuel fill into the inner air box. |
