Doing all this work to my 99 X1 and forgot all about the injectors. My questions is with the following set-up with my stock injectors be sufficient?

1250cc kit
Nology Wires
Champion Plugs
D&D Muffler
FOrcewinder Intake
Techlusion Fuelmani
Dyna 2000 ignition
XL1200 Heads
XB12R Rocker Covers

I dont want to get this all put together and find out that my bike will run like crap because the injectors are not big enough. THANKS

David,
When I was looking for a cross reference for my '99 injectors someone mentioned that the Ford ones may be bigger. You might take one to a parts shop and see if they can ID yours and find specs on them.
It's probably worth a shot. I ended up just ordering Buell ones.

I'll do a little research but,there's a shop around Jersey that custom modifies injectors for more flow.

I know this because i'm switching from dual injectors/cylinder to singles/cylinder on my 996 project.Don't ask why,but it's a twisted bike.

50cc more than stock and with the same redline make me think that the stockers would be fine.

I would suggest trying them out before throwing money at it.

50 cc isnt much at all. going from 1200 to 1340 would be a concern on a carb, Not sure about the range on this FI. Yeah try it out first.

Good job though thinking ahead and planning!!

Please post with your results and how the bike runs. I have an 02 X and am thinking of playing around with it. I think the Tech fuel mani would give it more fuel and cant see why the stock injectors wouldnt keep up.

Someone posted this same conundrum a few months back and if memory serves, they stayed with the stockers with no problems. Don't take me for scripture though, use the search or check the KV.

I sent a stock injector to them (RC)in hopes of IDing it--no luck.They were not familiar with it.
If anyone here works at a Ford dealership,maybe he can take one to try and ID.
I was looking over this site trying to see if something matched.

DT why a seprate ignition? using a race ecm?

I think grads' got it the engine does not displace that much more

There's another post on here somewhere about using the Vrod injectors, for much more juice.

I don't think you would need that for the 1250 kit, but if you do, it was a rather simple mod and a big increase in flow.

From my work on turbocars (Mopar 2.2s), generally a large boost increase (similar to displacement increase) is handled well enough with either Mopar Performance +20% injectors, or a bump in base fuel pressure thru an adjustable regulator. For cars like my buddy's 10 second Shadow you need +40s and a regulator. I run 18psi boost in a 2200cc car designed for 9psi stock, with stock injectors and an adjustable regulator.

50cc should be handled fine by the stock stuff. If you have the means, tap an air/fuel gauge into the O2 sensor and make sure you're running the right way. Lean is mean...until something melts, LOL.
