Hello all, Re-installing the exhaust on my 2000 M2. Just can not get these new gaskets (65324-83A) to fit in the ports. Destroyed one already trying to get it in. Finally measured the port and it's 1.917" but the gasket measures 1.930" so that explains it. Every other engine I have ever worked on uses a gasket a few thousandths smaller than the port opening. So what's the trick for installing them? |

You can also use a thin "blade type" feeler gauge between the gasket and port to help slide them in. |

OK, I got them in. put them in the freezer for an hour or so, then started them in on one side and worked my way around like the way you mount a tire. Finally used a little screwdriver to push the last bit that was hung up on the rim. Yea, a feeler gage would have been better. Thanks guys for the help. |
