Jeesh, I was changing the crank seal (again) on the cyclone. Took less than an hour to replace the new seal! then over 2 hours to put it back together! I was just not thinking! I swear I forgot EVERYTHING at least once. I ended up pulling the primary 3 times, the last of which was after I had filled it with fluid, that was fun. The worst thing I forgot... TORQUE THE BIG NUTS DOWN! The freaking clutch and crank bolts! What in the hell could I have been doing, to go ahead and bolt EVERYTHING back up, fill it with fluid and start the damn thing, while leaving BOTH those bolts finger tight. needless to say the BIG rattle made me shut it off immediately, and it occurred to me. Nothing came off or broke... no problems at all (thank goodness), but it was just VERY frustrating. I think it's finally back up and running. Jeesh. |

HA! The first time I did a valve adjustment to my 1955 Ford, I couldn't find my feeler gauges when I finished. I started the engine and the racket from inside the valve cover told me right away where I left it... |

I feel SO much better now... I once left a feeler gauge in an '85 Land Cruiser after a valve adjustment. It was sitting in a valley and made no noise/caused no problems. Found it 60k miles later. Until now, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone else... :-) JJJ |
