Went to the dealer in Chattanooga (looks like this is getting serious). It wasn't terribly taller than my DR 650 (Motarded). I'm almost there-almost in the comfort zone on seat height. I've gotten used to the Suzuki and now think I actually prefer taller bike. As with sport bikes, my cruiser days my be done. I asked about a test ride, and they looked at me like I had two horns and three boobs-but that's another story. Back to the point. As I said, I'm just almost there on seat height. They claim there is a lower seat available the is another 1 1/2" lower than the stock '08. True? If so, could some of you guys share some reports/pics on this purported lower seat. |

Geopatr is slightly mistaken. The '08 is the same as the '07 which is lower than the '06. There is also a low seat option available that is lower than both and has a gel pad in it. It's is not much lower than the '07 maybe 1/2 to 1 inch, but some say the '07 reach to the ground is better due to the shape of it in the front. The subject was beaten to death and finally M2NC summed it up by buying all 3 and comparing them in pictures for us to see the true differences. Do a search for it. It's out there. I have the 06 low seat. The 07 (and 08) does provide better access to the ground because the front near the tank is narrower. The problem I have is that the narrow part extends too far back to my tastes. I prefer the 06 low seat, but if I had trouble with reaching the ground the 07/08 would definitely help. Many have also said that you get used to the seat and don't notice the narrow front. |
