What mileage intervals do you all change your oil at? Also, what type of oil is everyone using? Just regular motor oil? |

I've had one mechanic recommending every 1000 mi's, but reality is 2-3k. I too am curios about intervals other folks use. Likewise for tires . Maybe including in profile ? |

I change my oil before "storing it" for the winter (Ohio), about December. Then again in the spring before the riding season begins, about March. ( Any dry day through the winter though you might see me taking her out no matter what the temps!)I never let it go past 2000 miles between changes. Actually have been changing it at 1000 mostly. Syn 3 is all I have ever used. Not averse to trying other brands though. I only have 6,000 on my XB12 now. |

Stock Dunlops are toast at 6000 now. Front one is cupping, rear is worn. Corsa III's are on order. |

Oil intervals are completely based on type of oil and riding habits. Buy an oil test kit so you have hard data instead of opinion. Many options are available - try NAPA and Blackstone on the web. As for oil recommendations, follow the service manual. Synthetics are better if you can afford them. I like M1, 15w-50. |
