Tried the KV with not so much response. Sorry for cross-posting , but; Has anyone made their OEM Buell Race muffler louder? From the exhaust shootout I belive it to be the one best for me. And I already have it. But I would like some more noise! Hell, i've had a 1520cc Shovel with dragpipes and a 1550cc Twin Cam with an opened up pro-pipe. I need some more noise from my XB12S! Mind you, I don't want to sacrifice performance. But from the shootout you could see the Race muffler loosing some at the very top. Maybe opening it up would correct that. But also at the same time sacrifice the good performance in the mid range... Anyone with experience??? BR /Björn, Sweden, Europe |

Hehe YES! Btw 147db, I really like the bikes on your page. Good job! I have actually stolen some ideas. Like removed black on the edge of the rear belt pulley. And to some extent the outer airbox holes. Sorry about that, but it just shows that you have good taste. |

Björn, the best thing you could do is buy a D&D if you can find one. You may even be able to find someone to trade. The Buell Race muffler is a rare find, and people have been know to buy them for more than $600 (US) for just the muffler. The D&D is really loud, and it doesn't need any tuning, it also gives better midrange punch. Good luck. |

Glitch, the D&D seems to be able to fill my quest for noise but it looses to much power in the high end. (From reading the shootout.) Thanks! |

I ride with a guy that has the D&D cans on his (I have the Race Can by the way) and I'm convinced his idles louder, but at WOT, the Race can barks louder. He agrees. |

I ride with a D&D and the midrange punch is well worth it and I think more enjoyable than top end. and for sound it is very percussive, after long trips there is a little ring in my ears. I scored mine on www.cyclespot.com |

If its loud you want, just get a force pipe |

If you do the force pipe you will have to do ecm programming, or driveability will suffer greatly. It is the loudest AND most powerful pipe on the market. I removed mine so I wouldn't have to wear earplugs all the time. It is STRONG pulling up top for sure. |
