Ha, my bike was on the local TV news, It's famous now. Yesterday I took the loop (backwards) from my house, Swansea, Dighton, Berkley, Assonet/Freetown, Dartomouth, Westport< LilCompton, Tiverton back into Fall River then a stop over at Vanson Leathers. They(Vanson) hosted the party for the Westport HOG MDA run. I got there jest before the 800 or so bikes came in from the run so I was parked right in the front row at the entrance to the parkin lot. So guess who's "00" X1 Millenium Buell American Motorcycle was HOGing up the back ground in the news clip? Ha Ha my bikes famous, its been on TV. Ok so it was only a few seconds of fame, I'll take it. |

Geez, I'm missing all the fun with my stupid patched tire (thanks again, Painkiller). But I've got a new one on order. Took the wife to the 'Bean (on 4 wheels, not 2) on Sunday to show her what all the hype is about. She enjoyed herself and tried to abduct Sasha the dog. There was only 1 Buell, a tuber with blue plastics, in the lot, and one crazy-looking backwards trike built from a tuber. That thing was nuts! Anybody else seen it before? |

Hey Scott give me an adress and time to meet you friday night, as long as the weather is good I will be there for drag racing, do you have any idears for keeping my front wheel on the ground? I have a big tie down that has a rachit and can compess the front end with it, but I think it is to big, I like what you have on your bike, let me know were I can get something like that for my bike. I had a good time sunday, I like to follow you guys so I can see what is coming up, and to pick my line and speed, I am paranoid from you guy's telling me my tires suck, now I got that stuck in my head when riding fast, thanks everyone! I got to get rid of those tires just because I feel like they are cursed by you guy's. after leaving you guys on the hyway and having the front wheel do that to me, hate it when it does that to me, I hit the first exit and found a dunk wich I needed bad, was getting a little tired, had a coffee, then was ready for more riding. also the other Scott who is sick, let me know if you need help? I live in Peobody Mass wich is not far from Derry N H, and do not work so let me know if you need help with anything. Mike |

here you go Mike - don't forget the snell rated helmet, leather gloves and jacket (though they will usually accept a textile jacket with armor) and boots over the ankle! Also, a "chain guard" on top is required, so if you had it off - put it back on! I'll be there possibly as early as 5 if I can get out of work, otherwise between 5:30 and 6. the bikes are parked on the left before the staging lanes and if for some reason I'm not there yet, just go to tech behind the staging lanes, sign in at the drivers booth directly across from tech, and wait by your bike for the "tech guy". http://www.pingelonline.com/front_end_lowering_str ap.htm (Message edited by scott_in_nh on September 04, 2007) |

thought i would post this here first... was in an accident last night, guy in an infiniti driving towards me took a left hand turn right into my path... claimed he didn't see me.... i tried stopping (wasn't gonna swerve into oncoming traffic...) and ended up laying it down and riding it into the suv rolling off into the road... I am fine other than right femur bruise and a totaled bike, gear did its job... helmet untouched... Nick |

Sorry to hear that Nick.I can say that at least you're able to post this but...THAT BLOWS!!!...Be sure and get ALL you're entitled to. On another note....my 996 engine has grown legs..MAAAANN...this thing has taken me to a whole new dimension.I spoke with my engine machinist today who'll machine my pistons BOTH times.Yeah..the first time to provide clearance so the dome can fit the "small sized" 996 chamber(the real race bike had "Big chambers" and bigger valves). Then after i set the "squish band" with the appropriately thickness (shim) base gaskets i can calculate compression ratio(CR).The pistons i got are 13:1 with the bigger chambers and the thought is they may come in too high at 14:1.So after i calculate CR i can then get the domes machined down a little and recalculate until i'm between 13 and 13.25:1 CR.Tedious and just a little sucky. Then i can begin mark-up assembly and degree the cams(adjustable up to 10 degrees either way) and check/verify piston to valve clearance. Then, maybe i can seal up the cylinders and go on to putting the bike together. It all seems very ominous right now so,i'll take it one step at a time.I'll drop off the pistons tomorrow an have them back within a week at about $200@$80./hr |

Yup Heal fast! Now lets see a picture of that TOTALED bike. Most are hard pressed to actually total it unless there is frame damage. Buell's crash pretty well...Don't ask how I know....x2 I would be interested in buying it if the price is right.... |
