Jon, I will be there also. Bringing sound system and DVDs of recent racing. I talked to Woz and Curt on the phone from Bonneville, and we'll try to get them on the line tonight also. Later... Jim |

Looks like they've been double hacked. By someone who want's to help them secure the site. Yeah, right! Like the pop-ups that offer to help you stop pop-ups. |

Jim, Thanks so much for being at ASBN with all of your gear (and your cool Beemer!). It makes the show a show. It was small, but SPECIAL!!! |

I read that it is Arab hackers in Amsterdam that are doing the damage. I had the above screen pop up, and then a vBulletin forum that was in Arabic. |

It's kinda like having a Pit Bull being bred with Lassie, it will attack you THEN run for help. |

LOL. Using the [at] to avoid spamming on the hacker ransom address.... Real pro's, those. |

Been doing a little research. It seems that vBulletin has a vulnerability that was recently found. Anyone that has access to Usenet and knows which group to look in can find out how this is done. I'd bet vBulletin is hard at work to patch the hole, or is telling everyone with a registered vBulletin board to upgrade. So, as has been alluded to, this took no skill, only curious kids with destruction on their little minds. |

Malevolent hackers SUCK! Jim, Are there not examples aplenty in the archives here and elsewhere of similarly negative opinions expressed by those seeking to deride Buell Motorcycle Company, Buell motorcycles and/or Buell enthusiasts? I'd rather not go looking for that manner of dialogue, and I'd rather not dredge up yet more consternation and argument. |

Inthis case, they exploited a cPanel vulnerability. Those who whine about Microsoft being unsecure, take note, this was an Apache hack. It's back now and I walked the ISP through how to secure their server. Oh, and Ducxl, We were here long before you. Vik, on bedwett since 1999 |

I was hoping to made a moderator of Badweb, and have a finger on the ban button, but I think I've been passed over, again. Snail, on Badweb since 1999, (I invented the RAN.) |

I have probably seen 20 different cPanel vulnerabilities over the last 5 years. I wouldn't run it on my server if I could avoid it. Was it the recent Apache XSS issue? |

Nice attitude Ducxl, so have you met or ridden with any SacBorg'ers? Just curious. The site was back up, but now the database connectivity is shot. Vik has been calling the ISP and working it out with them. Right now I'm swamped with work from my upcoming show. Should be back up and running this week. oh and Ducxl, you should come out and go on the ride we are planning, CA to Washington border, no pavement. Or even better, come on out for a trackday. |
