My bike hit the ground and sustained, among others, an injury to the headers. The dent is approx an inch by an inch on the rear pipe. Just close to the timing cover. So quite far from cylinder head. It is only a couple of millimeters deep. Should I repair (difficult) or exchange the headers? Will there be a noticeable impact on performance? I couldn't feel any difference with the butt dyno... I am gonna go with aluminium coated headers so I can cover up the scratch. Aluminium to serve as heat sustainer, just like wrapping. |

I don't think it will make much of a "dent" in the performance of you engine. For me, I would be freaked a bit because of the bent, but that's more of an OCD thing. |
