Hi, I'm trying to find new foot pegs for my Blast and am having no luck with the factory parts -- although the accessory catalog says the billet pegs and rubber pegs fit "all models," they don't, nor does the service manual list anything other than what's on the bike. It's not so much that the pegs don't work for me, it's just that they're the only thing I don't really like about how my bike looks. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket part? Thanks!  | ||

Looking for a better bar for the blast. I was wondering if anybody has the S-1 bars on and how much does it change the riding postion from stock. HAVE ANY PICTURES Also does anybody have the crossroad bars on and how do they feel. Is it better that stock or are you to far forward. For 200.00 I am wondering if they are that much better? | ||

I have the xroads bars and reatsets on my Blast. They move you forward some, and down a lot. I like them, a friend complained about leaning so far forward. so go figure. You might want to check the archives - several riders have used "superbike" bars from Tucker Rocky on their Blast. Not quite as low or forward as the xroads, and only 15 bucks or so. If you decide to go lower, the xroads are about the only thing left - flat tubular bars won't clear the tank. | ||

Clubman bars, I believe? Any chance you can mount them up (even just lay them on top of the existing bars) and take a pic so we can see how they would look on the bike? | ||

I found this photo on Ebay and they sold before I could measure and place a bid ($25). I'm taking a photo of these bars to the dealer along with a tape measure tommorrow to see if they'll fit and if they can order them. WEEEEE orderd the Crossroads Custom rearsets today. | ||

Has anyone besides Crossroads made rearsets for the Blast? I know Tony has the motor mounted ones. Philly - do you have the frame mounted ones? If you guys could post some close-ups of both sides I'd really appreciate it. Also, since I mounted the Crossroads bars I was curious what the stock mirrors would do. Well, the new bars force the stock mirrors lower and further out. They don't look as much of an afterthought as they do on the stock bars. Interesting. Oh yeah - they work, too! -Saro | ||

hey Kyuss, I can tell you this, that fairing will require a lot of "massage work to be made to fit. even with xroads bars you will cut plastic. That said it will also be different than mine and any one else who uses the L/P universial cafe | ||

Aaron they will fit but they will also hit the tank, the pullback is too much. so no they will not work. the set above them "superbike" bars work well beleive it or not 3/4" pull back makes a huge difference. the fairing looks basicly the same as my LP one only with a lighter screen | ||

I tried some clubman bars from Tucker Rocky On my Blast. They look like the Airtech ones listed above. Unfortunatly they didn't fit. No matter what I tried they hit the tank and severly limited turning. Even the superbike bars I have needed to be rotated forward a little to clear the tank at full lock. Jon | ||

hey xgecko i just got my LP fairing the other day going to try and get it installed this weekend. that is the fairing you have correct? what sort of fitting did you have to do? i'll also be installing superbike bars. also i was thinking possibly some fairing mounted mirrors since the fairing is wide enough. any ideas (yeah i know you go with no mirrors)? | ||

Put tape on the Lexan before you cut it otherwise you will be buying another screen. Actually you will have to cut both sides to fit so install your bars first then start to work on installing the black ABS plastic lower once that is done work the upper. From experence I can say that a half inch (at least) is needed between the plastic and any motorcycle parts otherwise they will vibrate...and annoy you. You cannot attach anything to the Lexan it does not have the structural integrity (sp?) to take it so mirrors would have to be rather low. All the shaping should be done with a dremel tool and a heavy duty cutoff wheel. BTW you will have to cut a notch over the front brake resevoir | ||

any chance you have some close up pics of the fairing? particularly where you had to do the mods. it would help me plan ahead a little bit more. the mirrors i was thinking are the LP F1 mirrors, should be light weight. i don't really mind if they are low (body mounted not lexan) they would be at the same level as bar ends. oh yeah any warnings about the bar switch? | ||

I won't have use of a digital camera until the weekend though there are some older photos on my blast in the "Blast archives" Changing the bars is easy. To remove the Clutch side grip slide a long thin screwdriver between the bar and grip. Then spray windex (or some other window cleaner) under the rubber remover the screwdriver then remove the grip. For reinstallation I'm partial to using clear laquer as a lubricant/glue but hairspray is an industry standard. Either way you don't have more than 20 seconds, so spray and slide. BTW you will also have to trim the right side lower fairing ear to clear the motormount | ||

Does anyone else out there have droopy footpegs on their Blast? It doesn't appear that the mounts (long arms from the frame) are bent, it just looks like the pegs are worn around the pivot pins or something. I don't like how the pegs angle downwards. I might try swapping the rear pegs for the front to see if that changes anything. I just bought this with 5k miles on it and must say that it's a fun little bike. It has a Force Pipe (Loud!) and a custom Forcewinder intake on it also (The guys at Force say they have no plans to produce it as tooling would cost $5k and they don't see enough demand). I have a Buell S-2 and a H-D Sprint 350 as well, all are fun in their own way. I love the term 'Blastards' as I have some experience riding the Red-Headed Bastard Step-Child of the Harley Family, the Sprint 350. Ride Safe! Does anyone have the corbin seat on the blast? I was wondering how much better is it to stock? I am looking for a stiffer seat, has anyone tried to put stifer foam in the seat yet? And last what about the foot pegs? Surely someone has a new after market set by now. If you will build it we will buy it. This is the number one problem on the bike. | ||

I have the Corbin seat it is amazing. It does take some getting used to as it plave you a bit further to the rear than the stock seat. I threw up my hands in despair over the footpegs. switch to rearsets (Crossroads/Banke) and you're problems are over. | ||

Rd: "Sargent" also makes a good seat. I just got mine about 2 weeks ago, much firmer & wider than stock. Only drawback is you gotta send them your seat to rebuild. Steve | ||

Hmm... well, I already ordered them, and if I canceled it now I'd get hit with a restocking fee. I guess I'll try them out, if they don't work (reasonably well, a being a little limited is ok), my friend with a GS500E will take them. | ||
