RT,it was indeed my red one. I was captivated by Brankin's posting of the Black S-2 that was custom built at the factory and had to have one. I got home from Al's American Sport Bike BBQ last year and reduced the bike to components by the next morning. You got the engine, I had all the black parts done and waiting. The engine is from last years Bonneville bike. There is not alot left stock after 12 years of ownership. I sent in a couple of my racebike build, see what they think of that Buell. BTW, is this Gabe that worked for Derbi West, I bought the Derbi 50 that my son raced at Bonneville? (Message edited by firemanjim on August 23, 2007) |

I'll tell ya . . . there is just something about and S-2! I'll be writing about the S-2, which has turned into quite a project since it was the "transition" bike, next Tuesday. I'd love to have some of those high res pics. Incidentally, if it is of interest, there were so many "special" Buells that have built at the factory (talk of the special "all black" (one of several special "all blacks" including the one for KD)) make me think that "factory customs" may warrant their own chapter. I also like the wheels on the Fireman's black bike. . . you guys amaze me! |

Maybe mention to Erik we'd like to see some new "Factory Specials". Maybe an orange frame with black bodywork to kick it old school on a new XB. Maybe a carbon Uly or TT? How about a RSS version of the new 1125? Those colors were astounding. |
