My engine nut came off and my sprocket can rock somewhat on the crank splines ,how tight are the spline fits? Are there better nuts or locking systems available ? |

Just put mine back together on the 99 S3 with 26,000 miles and the fit was snug, no rocking. Joe |

If it can wiggle at all, it'll fail. Never mind how I know. rt |

Oh shoot! Well, I'm off to buy a 8 bolt sprocket/rotor for $$$, and more stuff, we'll see if the wear is in the sprocket splines and not the shaft. |

What is the proper torque setting for the engine sprocket nut on a 2000 Buell twin? Has it been updated for a 2000 crank assembly like the updated ,increased torque for the XB's?? |

I've reinstalled the primary parts. The engine sprocket nut went to 200 ft lbs, nobody said otherwise! |

I thought there was a post on the BadWeB reporting an upgraded torque value, so I did a search for "primary sprocket torque alert". 200 ft lbs is not enough for XB's. There is a service alert upping the torque value to 250 +/- 10. |

I have a 2000 crank in a 96 tuber, it was 160ft lb in the manual, there must be a diff between the newer crankshafts and the older ones. (Message edited by vr1203 on August 28, 2007) (Message edited by vr1203 on August 28, 2007) |
