Author Message   Wolfridgerider Posted on Monday, August 20, 2007 - 09:53 am:        The fuel light stays on 24/7 on my Uly. Any idea where the short may be? It started to come on and go of while I rode, but now it stays on all the time. HELP!!!! Where to I start to look for the short?   Teeps Posted on Monday, August 20, 2007 - 10:17 am:        If it works like I think, it's a thermistor circuit. Therefore as the thermistor gets hotter the resistance goes down. So, a shorted thermistor wire would cause the low fuel indicator to stay on. There have been reports (on BadWeb) about fuel pump wires (inside the tank) shorting and causing fuses to blow. This could just as easily be the low fuel indicator wire.   Wolfridgerider Posted on Monday, August 20, 2007 - 11:31 am:        It was acting like a loose wire. At first it would come on and go off every so often. Then it started to happen every time after I started to ride. Then it would be on as soon as I turned the key on and then it would go off after a mile or so. Now it just stays on all the time... Quit doing so many wheelies! Maybe take it in for warranty. Read thread in archives about fuel tank wires rubbing through. Ride the other bike. Put more jokes on Badweb. Took the bike in and they replaced the fuel pump under warranty. I had the same issue. 06 Uly, light started coming on with full tanks. Then it went to full on. I had it replaced under warranty. Actually, I had the front rotor, fuel pump, cooling fan and timing cover all replaced under warranty, oh yeah they also found a leaky primary gasket and worn out breather valve on the rear head. The replaced both the gasket and breather valve. They also loaded me up with all new fluids due to the fuel pump R&R and the primary gasket. Well, on a ninety five degree day if you ran out of gas.....anywhere....you'd be needing some damn gas.....trust me! At that point it can come from any damn gas station!!
