Looks good, obviously had no recalls done as I see the fuel vent and WP shock still in place.I'd keep the shock but the 90 degree vent top is nice. You need a sprocket cover. And they swiped my idea on the A/C insert. Seat looks to have been reshaped.Still has first gen front rotor, how many miles on it? |

The nine pin was the loosey-goosey, it mounted the rotor in a different plane than the carrier. The later six pin as pictured (and as on my 95) mounted in the same plane as the carrier...but still rattled. I put new wave washers on mine, problem solved. There's a thread somewhere here in old school about a guy in FL selling a red S2 - that has the original rotor style. |

Here's a pic of the original front rotor.
You can clearly see that the rotor sits on top of the carrier, rather than in the same plane. I still have this on my S2 and when it gets hot, it rattles like crazy! Also, the rotor is iron and rusts when it gets wet. I have a 3rd gen rotor (from an X1) that I intend to put on it sometime. On a different note, I just pulled the rear rotor off (I have PM wheels) and discovered that it is "bowl-shaped", not flat. It is equally concave all the way around, not like it's wavy or anything. It doesn't pulse when used either, and seems to work just fine (or as well as any Buell rear brake works!). Are they supposed to be that way? BTW, my 1996 has the 9 button rotor, Carl's had the 6 button but it was replaced with a new style. It rattled REAL bad, you could hear it as you went down the road! Brad |

Brad, did you ever install that "cruise control", and what exhaust does she have at this point? If I ever catch you guys up here with the S2, we'll have to talk about some sort of day rental. |

Here is the spreadsheet of the S2 Signature Series. Page one is sorted by number, page two is sorted by status. Kristi

Since this is an S2 thread, I thought I'd mention I may have a line on an original fiberglass S2 front fender and a cracked fuel tank cover (small crack below/behind the tank, where your thigh touches it when riding). If anyone needs them LMK, I'll verify whether I can get them or not. |

Also, reading the listings...my bike (1365) is a '95, not a '96. It's not a T, but has the accessory T fittings - fairings and saddlebags. Just to clarify. Thanks for keeping the list, folks. I'm going to DL a copy of the .xls to my thumbdrive at home so it'll be nice and safe with all my vehicle stuff - soft manuals, my Chrysler eFiche, etc. |

I'd take the fender. Mine's wearing an aftermarket carbon fiber now and I'd like to get another one painted green. Let me know how much. |

If you decide to get rid of the c/f fender and if I could afford it I might be interested. Got some ideas I'm playing with.... re: signature series stuff: I'm tempted to dredge up past postings showing what the stuff all looks like and printing my own with a little white-out editing and put it in a frame in the garage on the wall next to where I park the bike. |

WHAT?!?! ANOTHER S2 IN GERMANY?!?! I thought I saw about the only one this past June at the BORG (Buell Owner and Repair Group) Mid Summer Meeting in the Muenster region of Germany.
About the time I was thinking to myself - Hey, I haven't seen a S2 here I returned to my camp and saw the only S2 in attendance parked right there. Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic of the VIN, so I don't know what number it is. CONGRATULATIONS, BASTI! Hopefully I will get a chance to see it the next time I am in Germany - perhaps it will be next years BORG MSM... Buell's 25th anniversary is a reason to celebrate you know! FMJ, HBJ's post is right on and shows the original S2 front rotor configuration. You should remember it from the dual disc set up that I thought you had at one time. HBJ, On a different note, I just pulled the rear rotor off (I have PM wheels) and discovered that it is "bowl-shaped", not flat. It is equally concave all the way around, not like it's wavy or anything. It doesn't pulse when used either, and seems to work just fine (or as well as any Buell rear brake works!). Are they supposed to be that way? I've noticed some similar, related (I believe) behavior with my S2 that currently has 112,000 miles on it, although I am running a later Nissin rear rotor on it (which may mean squat). I first noticed it when my rear brake pads weren't wearing parallel to the pad backing plate. The pins for the brake pads on the Brembo rear caliper have have slight grooves worn in them from all the years and miles of use. As the piston pushes the pad and the pad slides in the area of the worn in grooves the pads shift to a position slightly non-parallel to the rear rotor. At the time I noticed it I thought the somewhat flimsy (but adequate) Brembo mounting 'bracket' was bent or tweaked. I don't know if this explains your situation exactly, but it is what I've noticed on my S2. Bartimus, My S2 was originally Caribbean Candy Blue, but since 1996 has been Black with Pearl Red (actually Raspberry, as it was the closest thing I could find to being red over a black base) flames.

Hi @ FMJ Good eyes the former ownerhad the seat reshaped as he is a quite small person. I might ad a Corbin Gunfighter any experience with that seat ? I'm glad I have the WP shock and I dont know the 90 degree vent top. I have a sprocket cover left it's from my RSS parts collection but I think it will fit. I changed the A/C insert as the former owner had the HD Live to ride insert And luckily I have the original front brake rotor so I can do some work in the winter. @ 1313 you're right the S2 is very rare in Germany I think we have more RSS here than S2 Atleast I know more RSS owner than S2 owners .The S2 you have photographed belongs to Borsti from Hamburg, I know him. I think I'll attend next years MSM and I migtht bring some goodies from my collection Best wishes from Germany Basti By the way is there anybody here who will attend the Oktoberfest this year in Munich If so we could meet for a beer :-) |

<35 95 S2 FireManJim have We appear to have an interesting dilema. My ice white, '95 S2 is also serial number 35. I also have the signature timing cover stamped "35 of 1399," The serial number stamped on the headstock is 35 and the date of manufacture is 3/94. I also have the original bill of sale from Hals to the owner I purchased it from. Did Buell make 2 serial #35 bikes? M |
