Buell should know about the fan failure statics exactly, with or without warranty claims. The first 2006 Buell Ulysses models are just now going out of warranty. Therefore, all fans that were ordered and delivered to customers for Ulysses model bikes should be considered as warranty failures by Buell, if they look at their numbers objectively. Buell should be able to come up with a failure rate for this cooling fan based on parts movement. |

Windrider, If you check Lowflyers posts a bit up the board, you will see that Buell is claiming that the fan is not a problem so logically what you say is true but unfortunately it is not sinking in. I think we need to be a squeaky wheel (sorry to those with bad bearings) for a while to get these issues resolved. Claiming that there isn't a fan problem and only offering a replacement part that fails is not the right fix for this issue. |

Nah, that won't work, WR. I bought my fan from Al and he had three of them sitting on his shelf. Besides, I think it is the same part number as the one on all the other XBs. They have no way of tying the sale of a fan to a Uly customer unless it was on a warranty claim form that had a Uly VIN on it. Dealers don't necessarily report back to Buell on who bought what and for which model unless it is warranty work. (Message edited by lowflyer on August 17, 2007) |

Quick follow-up: The fan decided to fix itself on the way home last week and has performed normally since. (insert skeptical grimace here) I removed the fan check from the dealer service request and Manchester HD did the BAS recall in less than 30 minutes. They were prompt, friendly, and professional. |

Bobmcc, don't believe that your fan is fine so fast. My fan sounds normal one day then a blender of rocks the next. |
